I stilled as my blood ran cold. I didn't know there were other full moons that gave abilities to others. I didn't know about the Wolf Moon's gift until this year. What gifts could have befallen those unlucky souls born and chosen by Selene? More importantly, could they be ally or foe?

"Del, who have been known so far?" Javier decided to ask.

Del looked down at the page. "The Blue Moon, Pink Moon, and Blood Moon. There's also speculations of someone chosen by the Cold Moon, but there's no name right now."

"Did you say Blood Moon?" Kai asked like he feared the answer. But why?

Even Del seemed taken off guard by Kai's outburst. "Um, yes, I said Blood Moon."

"What does it say about it, and what’s the name listed as the one chosen by it?" Kai asked, practically at the edge of his seat and leaning forward like he could see through the screen from where he sat. Something about the Blood Moon was freaking him out and it was concerning me. I looked to Kao, who met my eyes and shook his head with a pleading look.

He didn't want me to ask about it, but why? It couldn't have been that they were afraid that they were the ones chosen by the Blood Moon, could it? If that were the case, then why was Kai the only one who looked as if he were going to be sick?

"All it says about the Blood Moon is that it fuels the bloodlust of vampires," Del said. "As for the name, it's listed that a woman by the name of Mona Cattaneo is the one with the Blood Moon's gift."

Though he tried his best not to show it, Kai's body visibly relaxed. Yeah, we were definitely going to have a talk about it first chance we got.

"So, you're sure there's nothing in there about a curse or the New Moon?" I asked Del, wanting to change the subject, mainly for Kai's sake.

Del skimmed over the screen for a few seconds before shaking her head. "I'm positive, but since it seems to be connected to Selene and the Wolf Moon's gift, I say it's worth looking further into it."

"How?" I wasn’t hating the idea but if we didn't know where to find more information about the Wolf Moon, how could we find information on the other full moon gifts?

Del chewed on her bottom lip, mulling over something in her mind. When she came to whatever decision she wanted, she stood up and held her phone out to me. "I think I may know someone who can help."

"What? Who?" I asked. "And remember, it's dangerous to use our cell phones. Pierce could track it and find us here."

Del rolled her eyes. "First of all, I'm aware of the potential risks, but do you really think I'd make a call if I didn't have a way around it?" When I had no answer, she continued. "Secondly, the person I'm calling will have a way to block my phone's signal. If she can help, we'll be moving out anyway, so you guys might want to start packing up your things."

"She?" Javier looked to his mate quizzically. "Who is it?"

"You'll see." Del winked, then turned away to make her call.

The rest of us were left sitting there confused and frustrated on my part. I didn't like surprises, especially when it was something of this magnitude. There was so much riding on whether we can uncover the secrets of the Wolf Moon's gift or not. Every day we spent stalling was another day Joaquin and Grandma were held hostage by Pierce. I could still feel my muscles tightening as my wolf's impatience grew. Holding her back was starting to feel like a worn dam keeping the rush of water from breaking through but cracks were slowly forming in the resistance. It didn't help that I was still unable to feel him through our mate bond. There was no telling what awful things were being done to him.

"Rosie, are you okay?" I heard someone ask, but I couldn't put a face to the voice right now, not when my whole body tightened with pain at my wolf fighting for control. I squeezed my eyes shut and willed my mental walls to hold.

"You have to wait,"I chastised my wolf."I know you want to rescue him, but it's too dangerous to jump headfirst into enemy territory. Pierce will be expecting us.”

"Mate,"my wolf growled frantically."Mate, mate, mate, mate."

She wasn't listening to me; her mind was solely focused on wanting to go after Joaquin. Mother Moon knew I so desperately wanted to run back for him too. I missed him so much. I kept thinking about all our moments together since our first meeting. We didn't know each other for very long, but we managed to click. I thought back to the night we mated, how good it felt having him pin me to the floor while he teased me mercilessly. How good it felt to have his thick cock filling me up.

"Rosie?" Someone called my name again, but I paid it no mind while my hand instinctively went up to my neck and traced the lines of Joaquin's mate mark. "Rosie!"

I snapped back to the present and looked to my right to see the twins watching me warily.

"Rosie, are you still with us?" Kao asked, pressing his palm against my forehead checking to see if I caught a fever.

"I'm fine," I said in a raspy tone.

"No, you're not," Javier interjected. "I can sense the distress of your wolf from here."

Leave it to my brother to call me out on my lie. "She really wants Joaquin."

"We're running out of time," Raph concluded. "If we're going to do something, it's better to do it sooner rather than later."

We all agreed as Javier ordered, "Let's pack up our things, and wait to see what Del says."
