"Perfectly," I said with a smirk.

Begrudgingly, Rosie let me go. I gave her one final kiss to her lips. "When I get back, there's something I need to tell you."

Rosie's eyebrows rose at that. "You mean you'll finally tell me what you've been hiding from me?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll be waiting for you to come back and tell me all about it." Rosie's hands slid around to my chest. "I love you, Kai. Te amo mucho."

I took a deep breath then stepped back out of Rosie's touch. Looking to my brother, I said, "Keep an eye on Rosie while I'm gone, P'Kao. I believe you're more than capable of protecting her."

Kao had a stern look plastered on his face, but from our twin connection, I could feel his need to not let me go. He strode forward, grabbing me and pulling into a death grip. My arms were around his waist and held him close, allowing it to give me strength I need.

"I don't want you to go, but I understand why you have to do this," Kao whispered in my ear. "No matter what, just know that I love you, little brother, and I'm so proud of you."

I could feel the tears forming as I held him tighter. "I love you too. Keep our mate safe for me, okay?"

Kao nodded, then the two of us separated. Turning to Del, I stood taller and mentally prepared myself for the trip. "I'm ready."

"About time," Del muttered, but I could see the hint of a smile on her face. She got on her motorcycle and patted the seat behind her. I'd never been on a motorcycle before, so I was a little nervous, but that didn't stop me from climbing on and encircling her waist with my arms to hold tight. "We'll be back before you know it," she told her men before gunning the engine and driving back to where we came.

Hang on a little longer, P'Joaquin. We're coming to for you.

ROSIE

Four vehicles went off in different directions. Malcolm and Nash went back to their pack, Del and Kai were on a rescue mission back in Kingsrose, which left Javier, Caleb, Raph, Kao, and me following Roxanne to this mysterious Moon Dial she told us about. I sat in the back with Kao huddled at my side and Raph seated across from us. He gave me a band to tie my hair back to keep it out of my face from the wind.

I was terrified for Kai. I didn't want him going back to Kingsrose, not after what happened before. I knew he had Del with him, but that didn't mean something couldn't happen to them. The farther apart we grew, the weaker my bond with Kai felt. Now I could barely feel two of my mates' presence and it was driving me and my wolf nuts. The only thing keeping me sane was Kao's fingers locked with mine. He sat there like a statue, staring off into space while his twin was risking his life. We both had the same fears running through our minds, but I hated the vacant look in his eyes.

I gave Kao's hand a squeeze to grab his attention. "Kao, he's going to be okay."

"She's right," Raph added. "Your twin will be fine. He and Del will rescue your missing friend and come back in one piece."

"I hope you're right," Kao muttered to himself.

It was hard to tell how long we were back on the road following Roxanne's car. Javier stayed in the driver's seat the entire time with Caleb sitting in the passenger side. The sky was already dark by the time Roxanne drove off the road and parked near a field of trees. Javier parked the truck next to her and cut the engine. When we got out, we huddled around Roxanne.

"We'll leave the vehicles here. Less chance of anybody finding where the Moon Dial is located," Roxanne said.

"You think somebody's following us?" Caleb asked, looking around as if to see if he could spot some stalker hiding in the shadows.

Roxanne shook her head. "I don't know, but better safe than sorry. If the wrong person steps into the sacred grounds and stumbles on the Moon Dial, none of us chosen by Selene will be safe. Anybody will be able to find us."

I didn't know what kind of danger lurked in this world, but considering Roxanne was a witch, and I met one of the Sisters of Fate, I had a pretty good imagination as to what else could exist. If what Roxanne said was true, then our powers were given to us to protect, at least until the next generation of Moon Chosen are selected. Roxanne led us deep within the woods, and as we started walking, my forehead began to itch with irritation. I hissed and scratched where it felt uncomfortable.

"Rosie, what's wrong?" Kao asked, stretching out his hand to grip my arm.

"Something's wrong with my forehead," I said.

"It's your mark," Roxanne called from the front of the group. "It senses the Moon Dial's location like a beacon. If you concentrate hard enough, you may be able to find it yourself."

"How do I do that?"

"Just close your eyes and clear your mind. Let the pull of the Moon Dial guide you," Roxanne instructed.

I did as she said, closing my eyes and tried pushing all thoughts to the back corner. I let the shroud of vacancy cloud my mind, devoid of all thoughts. There was a faint hum ringing in my ear. The itching sensation on my forehead grew, but I ignored the urge to scratch at it. Then came a tug, some invisible thread connecting to my forehead and tugging me forward. It must've been the pull from the Moon Dial.

I opened my eyes to see everyone else's staring back at me. I gestured towards the front. "That way," I said, stepping in front of Javier, Caleb, Raph, and Kao to stand beside Roxanne.
