"Or that he knows, but he wants the gift from you," Sabina interjected. "Your gift is the strongest out of your mates, and only you can transfer portions of it to others. So, it's likely Pierce wants yours so he can transfer the tethers to shifters of his choosing. He wouldn't be able to do that with Joaquin's energy."

"Sabina speaks the truth," Rowan interjected. "You're the real prize for anyone hoping to steal the power of the Wolf Moon. If anyone tries to steal it from your mates, they'd still be under your control. But if they take it from you, your mates would be under their mercy."

I threw my hands up in frustration, feeling tired of not knowing what was inside of me and what all it can do. "What exactly is the Wolf Moon's gift? The entirety of it. I'm sick of only getting bits and pieces and not knowing what it actually is and what all it can do."

We all sat and waited for Rowan to finally unwrap the mystery surrounding the Wolf Moon's gift. After weeks of not knowing what we were dealing with, we finally had the opportunity to know all about it.

Rowan straightened his back, finishing his cup of tea then set it aside. He cleared his throat and began uncovering the truth. "The Wolf Moon's gift is a powerful ability blessed to those who are born under the Wolf Moon. It is the very essence of Selene and her power that turned her mates into wolf shifters. I'm sure you know about the origins of Selene and her mates, yes?"

I nodded."Her mates were normal humans that she turned into shifters. The first wolf shifter pack that ever existed."

"Correct. When she did that, she altered Fate’s course for those men, essentially rewriting their future that benefited Selene and her mates, and their new life as shifters."

"She rewrote their future?" Javier repeated.

"Yes," Sabina stepped in to answer. "Fate isn't as one-way as we're meant to believe. There are many doors open to possibilities of what our future will look like, and Selene's interference and her power over the moon has created more that benefited her choices and the choices of others. Every Moon Chosen born with a gift was given paths created by Fate, and paths created by their gift. How the Moon Chosen chooses to live their life is where their path lies."

I pointed to myself. "And the path I'm currently walking is one created by the Wolf Moon's gift."

"Correct. You were given the power to challenge Fate itself by choosing your own path. The Wolf Moon's gift was the first gift created by Selene. You were the catalyst that created the other eleven gifts in existence, giving others the ability to alter their future."

My eyes fell on Roxanne, whose hand instinctively went up to touch her forehead; where her mark of the Pink Moon would be if it was visible. I also thought of Del and her Blue Moon's gift. Their futures changed because of the gift inside me. Whether it was good or bad, I didn't know. I guessed that would depend on them. For Del, she chose to accept her fated mates, but she also turned against her family of wolf hunters. Was that the path created by her Blue Moon's gift? And what was Roxanne's path? What about the other two Moon Chosen, the Blood Moon and Cold Moon? What would their path be?

"Rosie?" I looked up at Kao. "What are you thinking about?"

"The other Moon Chosen, the ones who are found," I answered. "I was wondering what their futures will look like in comparison to what Fate wanted."

"I'm wondering the same thing about myself," Roxanne said. "I bear the Pink Moon's gift. What is my path in life, and what's the difference between Fate’s future and the Pink Moon's future?"

Sabina leaned back in her seat, deep in thought about Roxanne's questions. "You're a witch, right? Your gift from the Pink Moon is telepathic and telekinetic magic; abilities involving the mind. The fact that you've stumbled into Rosie and her fellow shifters makes me wonder if you're meant to restore the connection between shifters and witches. No pun intended, but you could be the one to alter the minds of both sides to restore the Familiar Bond."

Roxanne said nothing as she processed that possibility. If Sabina was right, and Roxanne would be the one to bring shifters and witches back together, it was a heavy burden for her to deal with. She had knowledge about the Familiar Bond and the history surrounding it, so maybe she could find a way to make it happen. Thinking back to Del, maybe her path forged by the Blue Moon was to end the killing of shifters done by the wolf hunters. Mine was... what, exactly?

"Selene's gifts are powerful sources of energy and abilities that rewrite the futures of those who inherit their gifts," Rowan emphasized, bringing the conversation back to him. "Originally, it wasn't meant to be like this. Her power was only to turn her mates into wolf shifters, so they'd be loyal to her, and they could be together. Fate itself didn't like that she meddled in the lives of humans and tried steering them away from Selene. That's when the true power of the Wolf Moon's gift came to be."

"It was to protect her mates from a war," I said. "I saw the war in a vision of Selene and her mates. She wanted to let her mates go in hopes their lives would be spared, but they refused to back down. So, she did something to them, but the vision cut off before I could get a clear picture of what it was. I think it had something to do with a third shift. A werewolf form."

"We use the term Lycan," Rowan corrected. "But you're right. The biggest ability given to the mates of the Wolf Moon's chosen is being able to unlock a new shift that was unobtainable by us shifters. A third form, one where we become half-human, half-wolf. The Lycan. With it, not only are we stronger and faster, but we're unable to be influence by an alpha's aura except for the Wolf Moon's chosen. We're given full immunity by all types of influences."

"I'm unable to read Rosie's mind with my mind magic. That's because of the Wolf Moon's gift, right?" Roxanne asked.

"Yes, and soon enough, you won't be able to read the thoughts of her mates either. But that's just the ability of your mates, milady. You, however, have your own perks that makes you the Queen of Wolves."

"Which is?" I leaned forward, waiting in anticipation to learn about my abilities.

Rowan snorted at my obvious interest, which had me blushing. He was a handsome man, the kind I wouldn't mind... nope, not going there! The man already had his mate, for Selene's sake. "On top of bestowing tethers of the Wolf Moon's gift to others, you're also the alpha of alphas. You can rule over any wolf shifter, including other alphas."

"Oh great, just what I need to hear. A chance for her to boss me around," Javier grumbled under his breath.

I gave him a devilish smirk, thinking of all the ways I could boss him around.

"There's more," Rowan continued. "The powers Selene used to turn her mates into shifters are also yours. You govern the souls of the wolves that are hidden within us."

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"It means you have the power to turn any human you deem worthy into a wolf shifter, and you can extract the wolf's soul out of a shifters body, turning them into a human."

My eyes threatened to bug out of their sockets. I could turn someone into a wolf shifter or turn a shifter human. That was an interesting, yet dangerous, ability.
