This... this was an alpha worth following, and I was glad to be at her service. This was also the type of alpha I expected Joaquin to have been. I didn't think he realized it yet, but he finally stepped up to take his rightful place as an alpha. The twins found their home here, no longer wondering where their place in the world would be. They all found themselves in this pack. Perhaps I would get to do the same.

ROSIE

"You were amazing tonight, Rosie," Bryon exclaimed joyfully.

His praise had my belly doing somersaults. If only he knew what was going on in my head the whole time I was talking to our now growing pack. I was a wreck. On the outside, I was keeping it together, explaining the whole story like I promised I would. But on the inside, I was having a full-blown panic attack, praying to any god or goddess in the universe that I wouldn't mess up or do something that would make a fool of myself. What helped me get through it was the love and support my mates sent my way through our mental connection. When I spoke, I didn't do it from the brain or a sense of duty. No, I spoke with my heart. I knew how important it was to increase our numbers and to have these people join the pack, but I didn't want them to do it entirely out of fear for their life or because they felt they had no choice. If I did that, I would've been no better than Pierce.

I wanted them to join us because they believed I could be a great alpha, one who would do anything for her pack. I refused to rule out of fear or intimidation. I knew how much Kingsrose meant to my mates. To my abuela. To my betas. After all the hell that must've gone through with Pierce, I knew I wanted to be different. I wanted them to believe they made the right choice in putting their faith in me. I wanted to be like Javier, an alpha whose pack respected and would climb mountains and swim oceans for, because they knew he would do the same for all of them. That was who I aspired to be. I knew the crowd was relatively smaller than last time, but it couldn't be helped.

Of course, there would still be pack members who would remain faithful to Pierce. Now they were going to go to him, increasing his growing pack. I was slightly disappointed, but I chose not to dwell on that. Instead, I focused on the ones who showed up, and was glad they all chose to stay and declare their loyalty to me as their new alpha. Between my Renegades pack, Javier and the Blue Moon Pack, and Del's army of mercenaries, we may have a chance to win this.

But how soon would they attack, and would we be prepared enough?

"Byron's right." Joaquin grabbed me and pulled me into his embrace. "You did well, cariño."

I sighed happily as I rested my head on my mate's shoulder. "I couldn't have done it without you guys."

"I doubt that," Kao interjected with Kai agreeing. "P'Kao's right. You were a natural out there."

"You spoke with grace, strength, and authority," Rowan commented. "Like a true alpha. It was always your destiny to lead a pack, my lady. Don't sell yourself short."

Okay, receiving so much praise from five of the hottest men I'd ever seen in my life was an emotional rollercoaster I wasn't ready to deal with. It didn't help that Joaquin's hands were on my waist, plus his woodsy scent was having me feel all kinds of hot and bothered. I finally got to remember what it felt like to have Joaquin inside me, but once wasn't enough. Not to mention I'd been craving for my twins since we first arrived back in Kingsrose. An idea popped into my head, one that involved the four of us with a lot of privacy, and a lot less clothing than we were wearing.

I cleared my through. "Okay, boys, it's getting late. We should all be heading to bed, don't you think?"

Rowan chuckled, regarding me with an all-knowing grin. Damn him and his perception. "Sure, that's the reason. But I do agree it's getting late. We partied all night, and everybody else went home or went to bed. We should do the same."

I glared at the older man but gave him a hug and a peck on the cheek, wishing him a goodnight. I did the same for Byron, but when I kissed his cheek, he had this stunned expression that I wanted to ask about. Maybe in the morning we'd have some time to talk. The two men went inside the lodge, and Joaquin and the twins were about to follow but I stopped them.

"What's wrong?" Kao asked in confusion.

I looked around to make sure there weren't any wandering ears before I whisper to them. "How about we stay over at my grandmother's old house for the night. Nobody's in there, plus we haven't moved all the furniture out yet."

It didn't take them long to figure out where I was going with this. The minute they figured it out, their pupils darkened, and they stepped closer to me. Joaquin leaned forward, his whispers gruff in my ear. "You're wanting us to ravish you tonight, isn't that right, cariño?"

Fuck, his voice alone had me dripping with need. "Yes," I whispered.

"I think her majesty is horny for us," Kao growled impishly.

Kai moved to my right and gripped my hand. "You know I'm up for anything you want, Rosie."

My precious man. While the rest were already losing themselves to the idea of fucking, Kai was thinking of me first. I kissed his lips. "I want you. All of you. Tonight."

I squeaked as a pair of arms swept me off my feet and hoisted me up. Joaquin held me bridal style as he told the twins, "Come on, boys. Our lady is in need of our dicks."

I smacked him on the shoulder. "Did you really have to say that out loud?"

"Why not?" He waggled his eyebrows.

I stared at him in disbelief. "Uh, who are you and what have you done with Joaquin?"

Joaquin laughed. "It's me, cariño. Just the me that is no longer afraid to show the world how much I love you. After thinking I wasn't going to survive in the cellar, I want to make every day count from now on."

"Um... P'Joaquin," Kai stammered, suddenly feeling somber as he refused to look him in the eyes. "Listen, about that night... you know, when you saved me. I—"

"Kai," Joaquin cut him off with a stern voice. "If you're planning on thanking me, there's no need for that. You've always been like a little brother to me, and I would do anything to keep you and Kao safe. And if you're planning to apologize for what I've been through, taking the blame for me getting captured, save it. I don't want to hear it, because you have no reason to apologize to me.I did what I did because I chose to save you."
