Joaquin and Kao shifted back. Neither didn't seem to have been injured thankfully, but my poor sweet mate was still inside that thing. Who knew what Mordred was doing to him?

"Rosie." Joaquin jogged over to me. "It's that guy, Mordred. He somehow summoned Kai to find him. He tried trapping us both in that thing, but Kai's wolf pushed me out of the way."

"And there's no way to get in?"

"No, we've been trying, but every time we try to push ourselves in, we get pushed back."

"We have to keep trying!" Kao shouted, visibly shaking with a myriad of emotions screaming through our mental connection. He pointed at the offending bubble of darkness that kept Kai contained. "That's my little brother in there! We have to keep trying!"

I agreed with him. I don't like Kai being alone in there with Mordred either. What could we do? By the time we got back to find Roxanne, it could be too late. But did we have any other options? I had to think fast, or we may lose him. I turned to Rowan. "Do you think your Lycan can break through?"

Rowan's gaze shot to the dome, mentally assessing the possibility. His Lycan was strong, but was it strong enough? "I can try."

He stepped forward before hunching over with a growl. His whole body began to steam with heat before twitching in all directions. I hissed as my Wolf Moon’s mark shimmered to life, reacting to the Wolf Moon's gift coming from Rowan. We all watched as his body grew twice the size it normally was, building up another layer of muscle as fur began to grow and cover his body from head to toe. His fingers and toes curled and stretched out as his claws extended. His tail sprouted just above the round globes of his ass. His bones of his face moved and stretched out giving him the muzzle of a wolf. Once everything settled, there stood Rowan in his full Lycanthrope form. His body a mesh between human and canine.

I could sense the astonishment coming from our betas, but now wasn't the time to be impressed. Rowan let out an animalistic roar then charged towards the dome, his claws extended. Electricity erupted and danced when contact was made. I could tell that the barrier was trying to send Rowan flying by the way feet were skidding back, but Rowan pushed back against the force. He might be able to pull it off.

Joaquin grunted in frustration. "He's fighting back but he's still struggling."

"Then we need to give him a hand," Kao snapped, shifting back to his wolf and ran forward.

"Kao, wait!" I screamed for him, wanting for him stop, but he sprinted beside Rowan ready to push his way through. Unlike Rowan, the force sent him reeling back. He tumbled on his side but forced himself to get back up. "Kao, don't! It's no use!"

Kao didn't listen. Instead, he charged headfirst once again and the same result happened. He wasn’t going to listen to reason, not while his brother was in there. There had to be something I could do to help. When he was sent flying a third time, Joaquin stepped in to catch Kao, breaking his fall when they both collapsed.

"Kao, listen to me," I reached out for my mate telepathically. "You're not going to be able to break through. Let Rowan handle this before you get yourself killed."

Both my mates managed to pull themselves up with minor scrapes, but Kao's wolf kept his attention on the dome. "I can't," his mind replied. "I can't just sit back and do nothing. That's my brother, Rosie. He's the only family I have left. I have to get him out of there. I have to save him no matter the risk."

I could feel the anguish in his heart, the fear of losing Kai. His emotions were so strong, I found myself crying. Kao was a man on a mission. He wanted to break the dome down and rescue his brother no matter how much pain he had to endure to get to him. He dashed forward, colliding with the barrier again. This time was different. This time he didn't go flying. I could see the barrier pushing him back, but his claws scraped against the concrete, blood smearing from the gravel cutting into his paws. I could sense his pain, but with all his might, he kept pushing.

"Damn it," Byron snarled. "Even with Rowan's Lycan, we still can't break through. Just how powerful is this Mordred?"

Powerful enough, from what Pierce had told me.

"We can't give up," Joaquin declared. "We have to keep trying." To prove his point, he shifted back and rushed to join Kao. Somehow, he too managed to hold his ground, but I could tell he and Kao were struggling to hold their ground. I hated standing here and watching this happen. There had to be something I could do. I wished there was a way I could give them my strength. I’d give them all of it if I thought it would help. If only Joaquin and Kao could reach their Lycan forms too. They had the seeds of the Wolf Moon's gift inside them, right? So why couldn't they?

"I wish it was the Wolf Moon already," I said in a shaky voice. "At least then, they'd be able to become Lycans too."

"What if you focus all your powers on them?" Byron asked me, watching helplessly from the side lines.

"It won't work. Not without the Wolf Moon being up."

"Well, try anyways."

Wasn't he listening? As much as I wanted to, as much as I wished I could, Joaquin and Kao wouldn't be able to reach their Lycan until the Wolf Moon rises.

"Look at me." Byron grabbed my face and forced me to look at him. His expression was stern. "If anybody can pull off a miracle, it's you. You've made it this far, fighting for what you want and what you believe in. Fighting for your free will. The Wolf Moon's gift is your power. If you will for it to happen, I'm sure it can. At least try it."

Oh, I willed for it. Mother Moon only knew how badly I wanted it to happen, but I wasn't sure it could. I had to try. It was our only hope. I nodded, and Byron let me go. I dropped down to one knee, bowing my head and closing my eyes, my palms resting on the ground. I searched within myself for the Wolf Moon's gift, coaxing it to the surface. This time, I thought of the invisible threads that connected the Wolf Moon's gift to Joaquin and Kao, willing for my power to travel through them and reach my mates. I felt their emotions as if they were my own. I felt the pain that ran across their body. Their wish for more power. Their desire to rescue Kai. Their fear of losing him.

My tears continued to fall as I, too, wanted those things. I thought of Kai and how much he suffered since he was ten. I thought of his smile, his shyness, his compassion. I thought of the day I first met him. The time I went to see him at his work. The fear in his eyes when he thought he was going to die by Pierce. Him wanting to be one of my chosen mates. I thought of the grief he felt when he blamed himself for Joaquin being captured, and how determined he was to get him back when he decided to go with Del to rescue him. I thought of the night I took his virginity and how embarrassed he felt when I found out. I thought of the night we made love in the creek, and when he first told me he loved me. I thought of his Berserker Wolf, and how he begged me not to leave him. The night he, Kao, and Joaquin shared me in bed.

We'd been through so much together. I loved him so much, my heart burned with it. I wanted to save him. I wanted to protect him, to protect all my mates. To protect my pack. My family. I poured all my love into the Wolf Moon's gift, into the tether that connected me to my boys. I wanted them all safe.

Mother Moon, Selene, please help me! As your child of the Wolf Moon, I ask for your assistance. Please give my mates the strength to rescue one of our own. I beg you!

I wasn't sure if Mother Moon could hear my prayers, or if she could help us now, but it was the only thing I could think to do. I was just about to give up hope when I felt something flowing within my core. A cool sensation burst through whatever door kept it at bay and flooded through my system. It quickly morphed into heat. Flames of raw power spiraling through my body, but it didn't burn me. I wasn't in pain, but the intensity was pushing all the air out of me. My body protested, but I forced myself to keep going. I willed more to come to the surface. To find its way to Joaquin and Kao. To help them.
