“Fine! I give! I’ll see you tomorrow. Just please stop,” I whimper.

He backs up and a shifty smirk tilts his full lips. “Good. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

And he whistles under his breath, blowing me a kiss at the door. “See you tomorrow, baby girl.”

I drag in a ragged breath and my eyes slew towards Jamie when she pops up beside me staring at Steele when he walks out the door. “That man has a helluva lot of big dick energy. You’re a lucky girl,” she smirks and then wanders over to her husband, Rafe.

“I’m telling Rafe you said that!” I holler after her.

“Go ahead. He’s very confident in what he’s got!” she calls back to me.

“Eww. Just ewww.”

I groan when the bell over the door tinkles. Steele smirks when he walks in the door.

“Morning, baby girl. Want some coffee?” He holds up two styrofoam cups from the coffee place up the road.

“I don’t drink coffee.”

“You’re lying to me, sweetheart. I asked them what you like to drink.”

Growling under my breath, I reach for one of the cups. “Fine. So I like coffee.”

“Very sweet coffee apparently. That thing they made for you smelled like bear claws.”

“It’s a caramel macchiato with a shot of maple.”

His lips compress and he pales. “Good lord. That sounds awful.”

“Why? What do you have? Plain black coffee?”

“As a matter of fact, yeah. With an espresso shot.”

“You’re gonna be awake for three days. You don’t realize how strong their espresso is.”

“That’s alright. Gives me more time to win you, sweetheart.”

“I don’t know why I’m even talking to you right now. You did stuff on that dance floor like voodoo to make me say yes.”

He snorts merrily into his coffee cup, almost choking on the deep drag of coffee.

“I did no such thing. I just made sure you wouldn’t forget me. And that you knew how much I wanted you.”

I blush bright red. “I got the message.”

He winks brightly. “Good. Glad I made my point. Now. What do you want to do today? I’m open.”

“I’m working today.”

“When does the other woman come in? I can wait.”

“How do you know it’s not Rory’s day off?”

“Because she was in front of me in the coffee shop.”

“Oh. Well. She doesn’t come in for another half an hour and then I need to make an order.”
