Mike pulls into the drive-thru. We order a ridiculous amount of food and head back to the apartment.

Carrying the bags up to Callie’s, neither of us has a free hand to knock on the door. I can’t help but giggle at Mike as he struggles to tap on the door with his foot.

The door swings open.

“My God, did you buy all the food at the restaurant?” Callie asks when we walk in and place the bags on the kitchen table.

“Almost, but not quite,” Mike replies with a satisfied grin.

Yeah, they will be together sooner rather than later.
