“I can ask you the same question because I think you have entirely too many clothes on.” I pull back the covers on one of the double beds and hop in.

“I guess you don’t believe in taking it slow.”

“Sweet wife, this whole thing has been fast forward. Why stop now? I’m a full-throttle type of guy.”

I watch as Fiona moves slowly to the bed and climbs on from the bottom, moving up until she’s straddling my hips under the blanket. It’s a nice view, except that she’s still fully dressed. “Until you’re not.”

“Is that your way of asking me to adjust my speed?”

“I like your speed. I like everything about you.”

The way she says it tugs at my heart. “Fee…”

“Bexley is the only person who calls me Fee,” she says. “I like that you do.”

“Another thing you like about me.”

“There are many.”

“I want to hear them all.”

She chuckles. “Like you need your ego stroked.”

“No, but I really like other things stroked by you.” Her laughter fades as I sit up, sheets falling from me as I cup her face. “Fee, I know you’re a different type of girl then I’m used to. You proved it tonight. And you’ve already proven that’s a good thing.”

“Woman,” she corrects.

“Oh, you’re all woman.”

“You’d better believe it.” She presses her lips against mine. Once, twice… three times. My hands are reaching to dive into that hair when she pulls back.

“Is this your way to get me to slow down?” I mutter, finding her waist instead.

“Or maybe just to tease a little bit,” she says with a sly smile.

My heart gives a thump like a warning not to mess this up. “Fee…”

“You’re going to hate what I’m wearing,” she interrupts.

“The only way I’ll hate it is if you can’t take it off. Like if it’s molded to your body or something.”

“Well, kind of. It’s a bodysuit.” She tugs at the stretchy fabric at her waist. It’s a measure of how much I behaved myself tonight that I never noticed how her black shirt continued on under her jeans.

“Woman!” I groan. “What are you trying to do to me? Actually—” I tighten my hold and lift and flip her onto her back. She smiles up at me with that gleam in her eyes that warms everything inside. “I like bodysuits. I can take that off, no problem.”

“Aren’t you a smart boy,” she mocks in a husky voice, as I pop the button on her jeans.

“Darlin’,” I begin, then stop. “Baby,” I try again. “I’m all man. And I’m all yours.”

“I’m so happy.” I halt; Fiona’s jeans are undone and halfway down her hips. “I never thought I could be so happy.”

The expression on Fiona’s face clutches at my heart. It’s almost like she’s about to cry, but her smile is so wide, so glorious that there’s no question she’s telling the truth.

“Fee…”I love you, is what I want to say, but I don’t want to scare her.

It would scare her if I said it.

It scares me.
