“Why are you laughing? Stop laughing.”

He rested his hands on his hips, and hung his head. “That’s not why I’m selling, not entirely,” he sighed.

I peered up at him. “Then why, Luke? That place means everything to you.”

His blue eyes burned deeply into mine. “Not as much as you.”

My eyelids fluttered. “What does selling Easton's have to do with me?”

“For fuck’s sake, Blue! How am I supposed to chase you across the world, if I’m tied down here?”

I sucked in my breath, letting out a laugh of disbelief, as tears filled my eyes. “Oh, Luke, you’re such an idiot.”

He closed the distance between us. “How could I expect you to give up your career for me, when I could never offer you the same. It was unfair of me and I’m sorry.” He gently touched the end of a loose curl, grazing my cheek.

“But, Luke, I’m not going anywhere,” I said, wishing I told him sooner.

Luke’s hand froze and his eyes searched mine. “But you’re signing with a new record label, doesn’t that mean…”

“In Melbourne.” I wiped the tears from my face.

His brow furrowed. “In Melbourne?”

I leant in closer, and slid my arms around his neck. “Yep.”

Luke wrapped his arms around my waist. “I am an idiot.”

“Yep.” I lifted my lips to softly tease his.

“So, you’re staying…here?”

“Well, not here exactly.” I smiled, cheekily. “I bought a place in town. A business actually, with a cute little apartment on top.”

Luke’s mouth fell open, but it slowly morphed into a smile. “That was you?”

I nodded and let out a giggle, cut short by his mouth slamming on mine.

I parted my lips, but he pulled his away suddenly. “Wait…this isn’t going to work.”

“What?” I cried.

“You can’t live in that apartment. It’s too far from my house.”

I chuckled. “It’s a five-minute drive.”

He shook his head. “No, it’s not going to work. You’ll have to stay here.” He smiled mischievously. “Or...move in with me?”

“Oh really?” I laughed as he nuzzled his face into my neck.

“And I’m pretty sure you don’t want to stay living with your folks,” he muttered, nibbling on my earlobe. “Do you?”

I giggled. “Don’t you think it’s a bit soon for us to be moving in together?”.

Luke took my face in his hands and his serious expression caught my breath. “Blue, I’ve known you my entire life, and loved you for most of it. So, no, I don’t believe it’s too soon.”

My eyes glistened. “I guess not,” I rasped, as my heart raced.

Luke kissed me again. Sweet and gentle at first, but our urgency grew.
