His gaze moved to my chest and I wasn’t sure if he was eyeing my camera or my breasts. “Nice…camera,” he said, with a slight slur. He must’ve started drinking well before the bar opened.

“Leave the poor girl alone, Lauder,” a voice said from behind me.

Craig glanced up in surprise and his eyes widened. “Harlow!” He dropped my hand and stood to greet his friend.

Not sure if I was ready to face the man who unknowingly caused me so much grief, I quickly grabbed the menu and studied it.

“Never thought I’d see you on the singles table,” said Craig.

“Neither did I, but here I am,” he replied, nonchalantly.

“Were you at the ceremony? I didn’t see you.”

“No, I missed my flight. I doubt Hank noticed.”

Craig chuckled. “Well, loosen your tie, bro, you’re here for the best part. And the talent here tonight is…”

I cringed. He didn’t say the next word, so I could only guess he was making some sort of hand gesture to fill the gap.

William chuckled. “Well, good luck with that.”

While I was trying to figure out what the hell a fizzled carrot was, Craig placed his hand on my shoulder. “Speaking of which, let me introduce this lovely lady.” He gave me a little squeeze. “This is Josephine.”

Argh. I hate being called that. I turned in my chair and lifted my gaze to Craig. “It’s Jo—”

“Josie?”

My eyes shot across to the man standing next to him and I blinked rapidly. “Grayson?”

Grayson stood before me, mouth open, and as wide-eyed as I was.

Craig slowly motioned between us. “You guys know each other?”

My heart summersaulted as I stared speechlessly into his warm hazel eyes.

He cleared his throat, not deviating his gaze. “Um, yeah. We met a little while ago.”

“Hi.” My mouth curved into a smile that matched his.

His eyes sparkled back. “Hi.”

Craig groaned. “I need another drink,” he muttered and wandered away.

Grayson slid into the seat to my right, and sudden confusion clouded my mind.

“Wait, why did he call you Harlow?” I asked in a panic. “Are you somehow related to William Harlow?” Another brother?

He ran his hand over his face. “I am William Harlow. William Grayson Harlow.”

I furrowed my brow. “But you…we were…” My brain was having a complete meltdown. I let my forehead fall into my hands and left it there. Oh my god.

Grayson leant forward, peeking under the multi-coloured strands that had fallen over my face. “My friends call me Grayson.”

I groaned. “So you’re the asshole who ruined my article?”

“What?” He chuckled uneasily.

I lifted my head. “That’s why I was in Vegas. I was doing a feature on Melanie’s bachelorette party.”
