“It’s just sex.”

“She doesn’t want more?” he asks as we walk to the elevator.

“No. Neither of us does.”

“You sure about that?”

“Yes.”

We walk into the waiting elevator, and I push the button for the parking garage.

“I hope you’ve got a good present for Paisley,” I tell him, hoping the conversation about me and Taylor is over.

He sighs. “Yeah, I did.”

“What did you get her?” The elevator doors open, and Nash walks out without answering. “Nash?” I jog to catch up to him.

He stops by his truck and drags his hand through his hair. “A ring.”

My eyes widen. “An engagement ring?”

“You think it’s a bad idea?”

“No! I think it’s great. Areyouhaving second thoughts?”

“Fuck, no! Not about Paisley. She’s the one, but I don’t want to ask her to marry me on the back of an argument.”

“Go and speak to her. I know for sure she’s going to be as upset about arguing as you are. I’ll follow you on the bike and bring Taylor back here.”

He pulls me into a hug. “Thanks, man.”

A few minutes later, I pull up on Nash’s driveway and park behind his truck. I kill the engine but stay on the bike. He turns to look at me when he climbs out of the truck.

“I’ll wait here for Taylor,” I call to him. “Good luck.”

He nods his head and walks up the driveway. It’s only seconds later that the door opens and Taylor walks out.

“Hey,” she says as she comes to stand next to the bike.

“Hey. How’s Paisley?”

She blows out a breath. “Upset. What about Nash?”

“Same.” I take her hand and pull her toward me. “They’ll work it out. They belong together.”

She smiles. “Yeah, they do.”

“Come on. I’m ready for breakfast in bed.”

I wriggle my eyebrows and she laughs.

“Sounds good to me.”

CHAPTERTWENTY-SEVEN

Seb

Acouple of hours later, I park the bike on my parents’ driveway. Taylor’s arms are wrapped around my waist, and I bring my hand over hers, tangling our fingers together. I kill the engine and we sit in silence on the driveway. After a couple of minutes, she squeezes my hand before releasing it and climbing off the bike. I watch as she removes her helmet and shakes out her long blonde hair. She’s beautiful, and I don’t know how I’m going to keep my hands off her today.
