“Yes, he’s just showing off.” Silas grabs my hand and pulls me inside behind him.

The warehouse is a stunning residence, packed with natural light, space and quirky architectural features. It has a modern style and everything necessary to live comfortably but not cluttered. It’s like a studio with the bedroom, kitchen and living room all in one space.

In the center is a huge cauldron with smoke coming out of it. Someone in all black with a hood is stirring it.

I shriek and run forward, wanting to see more.

“This is so cool! What are you brewing? Can I help?”

The figure looks up and I see another breathtaking man under the hood. His eyes are a piercing green..

“Who is this?” he asks. I can tell he’s fighting a smile by the way his lips twitch..

“I’m Micaela and this is super spooky! I love it! Are you like this all the time?”

Now he’s definitely smiling. I can feel Silas and Oz’s amusement through our newly formed bonds, along with some jealousy. Probably because I’m giving my attention to another male.

“I’ll admit, I added some flair for Halloween. Kids love to pretend they’re bad ass by breaking in here, so I scare them instead,” the guy explains.

“That’s great! I love scaring people! Can I help?”

Before he can answer, Oz cuts in. “Elias, I’ve never heard you speak so much, but we came with a purpose.”

He raises an eyebrow, staring daggers at Oz for interrupting him. I like this guy.

“Could you help a ghost stay corporeal past Halloween?” Silas asks nicely.

“No.” He turns back to me. “Now, where were we? You would like to help?”

I sigh, I can’t muster much enthusiasm anymore.

Oz and Silas are disappointed and worried.

“Come, Micaela. We need to find someone else to help us,” Oz commands.

I move to follow him but Elias is up in a flash and in front of me.

“Micaela isn’t going anywhere.”

Uh oh. I don’t really want to leave him either but I’ll have no choice after tonight.

I set my hand on his shoulder, turning him to face me.

“I’m sorry, Elias. I would love to stay and watch you cause mischief but I have to go. I’m the ghost and if we can’t find someone to help me, I’ll be gone after tonight.”

His eyes widen as he looks down at me. He takes in my corporeal form before a severe frown forms on his face.

“That’s not possible. You’re my mate. You belong here.”

Now it’s my turn to look shocked. The other two move closer, I can feel their interest down the bond.

“She’s our mate too. That’s why we need your help. How is it possible that a ghost has fated mates?” Silas asks.

Elias thinks it over before grabbing my hand and tugging me to him.

“I don’t know but fate is never wrong. I’ll help you solve this if you bond with me as well. Now that I’m looking, I can see you’ve bonded with the other two.”

I nod, “I want to bond with you. This is insane. I went from a lonely, untouched ghost to having three mates.”
