When I look up again, I don’t see Fury anywhere. The wimp.
“I swear to God if you don’t move your ass,” Sunny yells, and Ice moves even faster, taking his woman’s harsh words to heart.
I smirk at him, knowing that this is all pregnancy pain. He’s got a lot more of her screaming at him to put up with before that baby is here with us.
“Okay. I’m ready . . . we can go,” he says and comes back to hold on to his woman.
“You guys going to be okay? You need someone to drive you?” I ask as Sunny starts walking again.
“No, we got it,” he says, barely able to keep up with his woman, who is beelining straight for the door. She’s on a mission, and that mission is to get that baby out of her.
I laugh, and Shiloh bites at her thumbnail. “Oh, I hope everything is going to be okay,” she says aloud, and I pull her into a hug.
In her condition, I’m sure she’s thinking about when this will be happening to her in a few months.
Once Sunny and Ice are out, Shiloh and I sit back down and have a little more girl talk before I see Armor rushing down the stairs to get to me.
“Hey, are you okay? Fury told us about the baby coming. Everything okay?” he asks.
I tilt my head to the side, not sure why he’s so worked up right now, “Yeah, we’re fine. We’re not the ones pushing a watermelon out of our vaginas.” I giggle while both he and Shiloh let out a pained whimper.
Armor rubs the back of his neck and takes a step back. “Damn, my bad. I just didn’t want you to be upset or anything and not be here for you.”
This man is as attentive as any person in the world. I’m lucky to have him.
“No need to apologize. I appreciate the concern, Armor.” I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in for a kiss. It still thrills me that I can do this in public without having to worry about anyone getting in trouble.
“Any plans for today?” he asks, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer.
“No, absolutely nothing.”
“You want to go get something to eat with me?”
“Ooh, yes, please. I’ll take all the alone time you want to give me.” I scratch my fingers through the little hairs at the nape of his neck.
“If that’s the case, then I have just the perfect place for us to go.” He smiles.
I lean in closer and he kisses my forehead before he shoos me upstairs to get dressed. I don’t know what he has planned, but whatever it is, as long as he’s with me, I know it’s going to be the best date possible.

A few hours later, we’re eating tasty Thai food on the back deck of his beach house out in Malibu. He’s picked me up some flowers and a decadent cake from a little bakery in town. We’ve got the deck all set up like a picnic, and he’s turned the lights out, so the only light we’re getting is from the moon. It’s absolutely breathtaking and amazing that he would have thought to put something like this together on such short notice.
“Armor, every day you surprise me more and more,” I whisper as I lean back against his chest with his arms around me, taking in the beautiful scenery in front of us.
“Well, I hope I keep surprising you. You’ll let me know if I start slacking off,” he jokes, and I shake my head.
“Not possible. I don’t think you know how to take a day off. You’re like the energizer bunny. You just keep going and going . . .” My words trail off, and I think about how that analogy can be applied to another part of our relationship.
The sex is so damn amazing.
“Yes, I can. In both ways, you’re thinking.” I turn around to see him waggling his eyebrows like an idiot and laugh.
“Not allowed to read my mind. That’s not fair.”
“Aww, but I like what’s in there,” he keeps up the joke.
It hits me that I have to tell him something else that’s on my mind. I need to get it off my chest, only because I feel like I’m going to burst if I don’t tell him soon. It may be quick, and part of me is nervous that he’s going to think we’re moving too fast, but I don’t think it’s the case. He shows me how he feels for me every day. His actions already speak much louder than any words could. I just want to get them out into the world.
