“Are you going to lay there and starve or were you going to alert me to the fact you were hungry?” Percy leans his head up and those sea green eyes steal my breath away.

“You’re beautiful.” That's all I can get out.

He laughs and gives me a slight smirk like he’s not used to being called out on his good looks. “I’m happy you like what you see. Don’t change the subject. You’re starving, why didn’t you tell me?”

“You were sleeping peacefully. I didn’t want to disturb you. Besides, I knew you’d take care of me the second you woke up.” I shrug.

His eyes cloud over with something I can only call determination, “I’ll always take care of you Ella, no matter what.” He says it with such ferocity I have no choice but to believe him. I nod and my stomach growls again.

“How about some pizza?” I suggest and he slowly peels himself off of me. My body instantly misses the contact.

“Yeah, let’s go get some.” He stretches out himself

Go get some? That’s not what I had in mind at all. He swats my thigh lightly as if he can read my mind. “If we don’t get out of this house, I’m never going to stop fucking you. In public is the only chance you have at eating right now.” He crawls off the bed and walks over to a huge door that opens with a touch of a button. Behind the wall is a massive walk-in closet. I almost drool just looking at the space. What I’d do with something like that.

“There’s another shower on that side of the room you can use. I’ll have someone from the boutique downstairs bring you an outfit to wear for the night. You’re a size eight correct?” he turns to look at me and I have to snap my jaw shut. How the hell does he know what size I wear?

“Uh, yeah, but I think I can get by in the clothes that I wore here.”

“No, I ripped the shirt, remember? You can’t wear that back outside.” He shakes his head.

“Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, let me know how much it is and I’ll transfer you the money.” He stops pulling things out of the closet and turns to look at me.

“Are you trying to be funny right now or are you serious?” He squints his eyes in my direction.

“Of course. I’m serious. I may not have all the money in the world like you, but I’m more than capable of buying my own clothes.” I pull the sheet further up on my body, all of a sudden not really caring for how he’s looking at me.

“I didn’t ask you if you were able to buy your own clothes. I told you I was going to get them for you.”

“And I told you that I would give you the money for them.” I glare right back at him.

“I’m not taking your money.” The muscle in his jaw ticks.

“I’m not taking yours,” I say with equal annoyance.

The both of us stare each other down for what seems like an eternity until my eyes seem to drift on their own down his chest and abs until it settles on his rock hard cock.

I bite my lip in anticipation and when I look back up he’s already smirking and on his way back to me. “You’re content on driving me crazy, aren’t you?”

“I want to be with you Percy, not kept. You already own my body and my mind. Don’t take my independence away as well. “

He gasps and rushes to the bed, “I’d never. You’re not my captive.” He grabs hold of the cover and pulls it off of me.

“I don’t have much to offer you. You have everything already, little things like this I need to be able to do for myself or I’m going to feel less than.” I try to get my point across before he leans over me forcing every thought out of my head.

“Okay. I hear you. I do.” He plasters his mouth down on mine and my grumbling stomach takes a back seat one more time as he sinks into me yet again.

I run my hand down the soft long sleeve shirt that the personal shopper down in the small boutique in Percy’s building sent up. I heard him tell her my measurements and give a few details on my skin and hair color, and the woman sent up three outfits that I would never have thought to put together. They make me look stunning not to mention they feel like heaven on my skin. This is the life Percy is used to, but to me it’s as foreign as living on a totally different planet.

“I really wish you would have let me buy that dress Vera sent up. It was beautiful on you.” Percy picks up my hand and kisses my knuckles as we walk side by side. He holds my hand like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

I try not to show how good it makes me feel, but my heart flutters every time I feel his fingers clench mine. “Percy, I’d never have anywhere to wear it. What good would it do me to sit in the closet collecting dust? It was very pretty though. When I have more time I’m going to have to go downstairs and see what other clothing they have down there.” I smirk at him.

“Vera has a wonderful eye for fashion.” He nods and looks forward. “Tell me more about your job at the tribune. I know how passionate you are about your craft, but do you feel the same way about where you work?” He doesn’t look at me and part of me starts to think that maybe he is digging for more than just my opinion.

“I can’t say that it’s the best place in the world to work. When I started there fresh out of school it was a dream come true. All I’ve ever wanted to be since I was a small child is a journalist. The previous editor was all about finding the real story and that really called to me. Our new editor, Sam, is more interested in stories that sell. I guess I can’t blame him. It's a tough world in the news business. He has to do what he needs to do to make sure that we all have a job.” I shrug and push the thought of how close I am to losing my job out of my mind.
