"And I'm Alice," I said, handing him mine. "It was really nice meeting you. You're probably the only sane, real conversation I've had so far tonight."

"Well, I'm glad to hear that, though a little worried about what that means for the status of men in this world." He laughed, and so did I. The next bell rang, and he stood. "Well, hopefully, we’ll connect later," he said.

"Yeah." I looked over at Rosalie, who wore another curious expression. I gave her a thumbs-up, and she started clapping enthusiastically. I started laughing, and then the next man came to sit down. This man was short and pudgy and really didn't appear to be in the twenty-five to forty-five age group that was required to attend the event.

"Hi," he said.

"Hello," I said cheerfully. "I'm Alice."

"Hey, Alice. I'm Diesel."

"Oh," I said, surprised. He looked like an Allen or a Mike to me, but I just went with it. "Nice to meet you, Diesel."

"Yeah. I'm a motorcycle enthusiast," he said. I bit down on my lower lip. I found that really hard to believe. "So Alice…"

"Yes?" I said.

"You ever been with a man who likes to dominate?"

"Oh." I stared at him for a couple of seconds. "I can't say that I..."

"I mean whips and chains and handcuffs and all that kinky shit." I bit down on my lower lip. I could tell that Diesel was trying to sound sexy, but it wasn't really working because he had a very high-pitched voice. He sipped on his beer and then burped. "Got to let it out when it comes out. Am I right?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

"So, Alice, something I wanted to say as soon as I saw you walk in here tonight."

"Oh? And what was that?"

"You got a nice pair of titties."

"Excuse me?" I stared at him with wide eyes.

"I said you got a nice pair of titties. I could motorboat them right now." He licked his lips, and I sat back. I had not expected the conversation to take that turn.

"Well, unfortunately, that's not going to be possible, Diesel."

"What about if I give you a hundred dollars?" he said and pulled out his wallet. He slapped two tens on the table. "I only got twenty here, but I can get more from the ATM. If you want, we can go to the bathroom and..."

"I don't think so," I said, frowning. "This is really not appropriate, sir."

"My name's Diesel."

"Uh-huh. Sure." I pressed my lips and sipped on my water. I took a couple of deep sighs.

"So are we going or...?"

I stared at him. "No, we're not going. You're absolutely disgusting. You're a pig. You're..."

"Okay, okay. Shit, a man's got to try." I didn't respond to him. I was thanking the Lord internally when I heard the warning bell ring. "Well, you let me know if you want that hundred bucks." He stopped and then looked me up and down. "But it's going to require a lot more than motorboating, if you know what I mean." I turned away from him and shuddered. It was confirmed. I was going to absolutely kill Rosalie. Oliver and Foster would cry at her funeral, but I would not.

"Okay, folks," announced the lady running the event. "We've got one more switch, and then the event is done for the evening."

"Thank God," I mumbled under my breath. And then a tall man with dark green eyes and dark hair sat down. He was the most handsome man I'd seen at the event.

"Hi," he said in a deep, charming voice.

"Hi, I'm Alice."
