“He’s not a wannabe rock star. Didn’t you hear what Barry said?” I gave him my sweetest smile. “He said he’s a rock star, and he’s trying to be an actor now.” I tried to laugh, but Travis didn’t seem to find it funny.

“Let’s get out of here,” he said. “I think we’ve…”

“No, we haven’t been here very long and…”

“And what? You want to bang a rock star?” he said, raising an eyebrow at me. “You want to be a groupie all of a sudden?”

“Excuse me?” I said, staring at him in shock.

“What? Finance world not treating you right, so now you want to…”

“I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear you say that.”

“You’re gonna…” But he paused as we saw Barry and a handsome guy with dark hair and dark eyes approach.

“Travis, Molly, this is Storm. Storm, this is Travis and Molly. Travis is a business associate of mine, and Molly is his assistant.”

“Nice to make your acquaintance.” Storm looked demure, which I was surprised at for him being a rock star. He shook Travis’s hand, and then he looked over at me. “Nice to meet you, Molly.”

“Thanks. Nice to meet you, too.”

“You know there’s a song that my parents used to sing.”

“Oh?” I said, staring at him.

“About a Molly Malone. I don’t suppose you’re any relation.”

“Actually, that’s really funny because my name is Molly Malone.”

“You don’t say,” he said, a wide smile crossing his face. “Don’t tell me the song was written about you.”

“The song is quite old and I’m not that old, unless I’m some sort of witch and just don’t know it.”

“You could never be a witch,” he said, laughing. “I could never see a wart on the tip of that pretty little nose.” And then he reached out and touched my nose softly. I stared at him in shock. I laughed a little bit to break the nervous tension I was feeling. I could see Travis glaring at us. “So, Molly, how do you like being an assistant? Are you here in Hollywood or…?”

“No. I live in New York in a crappy little studio apartment, but I’m hoping to upgrade soon,” I said, laughing.

“I know what it’s like to live in a studio, and I know what it’s like to upgrade. It feels amazing but weird to have so much more space.” His deep, husky voice was quite electrifying, and I found myself warming to him. He really was quite handsome in that almost too pale, vampire way. I wasn’t sure why rock stars always had pale skin and dark hair, but it seemed to work for them. It certainly was working for Storm. “Would you like a drink?” he said. “I just got here, and I’m in need of one.”

“Oh, sure,” I said, nodding. “Thank you.”

“This way, my dear.” I looked up at Travis and smiled and then looked over at Barry.

“Well, I’ll speak to you later?”

“Actually, I need to speak to you right now,” Travis said before Barry could say anything.

“Oh? But…”

“It’s work related. And you do remember you’re my assistant?”

I let out a small sigh. “Yes, Mr. Covington, I do remember that.” I looked over at Storm. “I’m sorry. I’ll meet you later for that drink?”

“Of course,” he said. He looked at me and then he looked at Travis. “And of course, if you want something, I can getsomething for you as well. I mean, I’m not your assistant, but I can serve you. I don’t mind.”

“I don’t need you to serve me. Thank you very much, Storm. How’s the acting career going?”

“Yeah, Storm. I heard that you tried out for a Charlotte Mendocino role.”
