“No, I’m not going to let you distract me.”

“What? You’re the one distracting me.”

“Let me place this order, and then I’ll tell you what I was thinking.”

“Oh yeah,” I said. “I forgot it wasn’t about food.”

“No, it wasn’t,” he said, shaking his head. I looked down at my phone as we lay there and picked it up.

“Oh, man. Poppy texted me. Let me see what she wants,” I said as I pulled it up. “Oh, she’s asking if I want to get breakfast with her.”

“Well, we’re eating breakfast together,” Travis said, staring at me. “I mean, you could always invite her, but…”

“It’s fine. We don’t have to do everything together.” I texted her back.

Me:Hey, I’m going to grab breakfast with Travis, but see you in a couple of hours?

She texted me immediately.

Poppy:No worries. I’m actually already downstairs, and guess who I bumped into?

I frowned slightly as I looked at the phone. Who could she have bumped into?

Me:I don’t know. Who?

Poppy:Brandon.

There was a sad face next to her text, and I laughed.

“Wow, Poppy really doesn’t like Brandon, which has to mean he’s a right jackass because Poppy loves everyone.”

“He’s a complicated character.” Travis shrugged. “Now can I tell you what I wanted to say?”

“Yes, Travis Covington. Don’t tell me I need to get my pen and paper because you want me to start doing some work.”

“No, you don’t have to worry about that, Molly. In fact, you might be quite pleased at what I have to say.”

“Oh yeah? What is it? Oh my God, please don’t tell me you’re taking me to Tiffany’s to pick out a diamond bracelet. I mean, I would love it, I’m not going to lie, but we’ve not been in a relationship long enough for you to be buying me diamonds.”

“No, you don’t have to worry about that, Molly. I think you watch too many movies.”

“I don’t watch that many movies,” I said, wrinkling my nose. “And, I mean, it would’ve been a nice gesture if you wanted to do that.”

He stared at me and groaned. “Molly Malone, will you let me tell you what I want to tell you?”

“Go ahead. Tell me, then.”

“How do you feel about going to Brazil with me?”

“What?” I stared at him, eyes wide. “Like a business trip?”

“Kind of,” he said, nodding. “I figured we’d go for a couple of days and check out the new office. That would be business related, but then…” He stared into my eyes for a few seconds, studying my face.

“But then what? Oh my God, please don’t say we’re going to elope and…”

He started laughing then. “Oh my gosh, Molly Malone. I have never met someone like you.”

“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” I said.
