“I know. When do you think you’re going to get that first paycheck? I noticed that Travis never answered the question. I mean, he offered you the job, but he never actually answered the question as to your paycheck.”

“Remember he told me to ask HR?” I said, shaking my head. “He probably doesn’t know what the pay schedule is even though it’s his company. I mean, he’s a billionaire. Why would he care when I’m getting my five grand?”

“True,” she said, laughing. “So would you want to do a tour of Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills? See if we see any celebrities at home?”

“That would be fun,” I said. “You love doing those tours.”

“I really do. Remember that time we saw Halle Berry’s gardener?”

I started laughing then.

“And the tour bus driver got so excited and practically screamed into the microphone?”

“Yeah, and then we passed the Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s home, and he was like—”

“Will Smith, are you there?” we both said in unison and started giggling.

“What’s so funny?” Travis asked, standing next to us again.

“Oh, we were just talking about the time we went on a Hollywood homes tour, and the bus driver got super excited about seeing nobodies,” Poppy answered.

“Oh fun,” he said. “I’ve never been on one of those tours.”

“Well, you wouldn’t need to, would you?” I said, staring at him pointedly. “I mean, you already know all the stars and where they live.”

“True.” He nodded. “That I do.”

“I bet you’ve even dated a couple,” Poppy said, grinning.

He smiled slightly. “Well, one doesn’t kiss and tell.”

“Sure, you know, Mr. Covington.”

“Uh, have I told anyone about us?” he said, staring at me.

“But I’m not famous,” I said.

“But you also don’t want anyone to know.” He winked at me, and I just shook my head.

Poppy looked at him and then at me and smiled a secret little smile that I didn’t like the look of. “So Travis?”

“Yes, Poppy?” he asked her, a light in his eyes.

“Do you have any super-hot, super-rich friends you could introduce me to?”

“Are you asking me to hook you up?” He laughed.

“Uh, yeah. You know how hard it is to meet eligible bachelors, and I figure if anyone’s going to know some eligible bachelors, it’s going to be you.”

“Well, I know a couple,” he said, nodding, “but I don’t know if you would want to date them.”

“What does that mean?” she said, staring at him with a raised eyebrow.

“The guys I know would eat you up and spit you out for dinner,” he said, shrugging. “I’m sure you want a nice guy, right? And I can’t say that I mix with too many nice guys.”

“I never said I wanted a nice guy.” She laughed. “I mean, Molly here isn’t with a nice guy, and she’s having fun.”

Travis nodded a smirk on his lips. “Touché,” he said. “Okay, maybe I’ll introduce you to someone at the party.”
