And he nodded. “Turns out, Sue Ellen wasn’t really into sex and didn’t enjoy it that much, though she liked being with Parker because he was rich and handsome, la-de-dah, you know how it goes.”

“Sure,” I said, nodding.

“So they had an arrangement where he could sleep with the half sister a couple of times a week, but he couldn’t stay in the same bedroom with her.”

“And the sister was okay with that?”

Dominic shrugged. “I don’t really know what the sister was thinking, but the last I heard, Parker moved to Mexico City and was living the dream.”

“I don’t think that’s exactly true,” Travis said, shaking his head.

“Well, I don’t know what the exact truth was,” Dominic said. “But it was crazy.”

“Yeah, it sounds absolutely crazy.”

I looked over at Travis. “I didn’t know such things went on in your world.”

“Well, I wouldn’t say in my world,” he said. “I don’t know anyone in any sort of situation like that, and I’ve never been in a situation like that. And just to clarify, the reason I broke up with Expo—”

“Who?” I said, frowning.

“Expo. She’s holding the party tomorrow. A girl I dated casually for a couple of months.”

“Okay.”

“The reason Expo and I broke up was because her friend made a move on me. When I told the friend I wasn’t interested, the friend convinced Expo to ask me for a threesome as a birthday present. And I was like, this is too weird.”

“You missed a part,” Dominic interrupted him.

Travis looked over at him and sighed. “Really, Dominic?”

“Well, you did miss a part. A really, really crucial part of the story.”

“Oh,” I said, raising an eyebrow. “What part did he miss?”

“Well, turns out that Expo’s best friend got into the bed and pretended to be Expo. And when Travis got into the bed, she pulled down his boxers and started to give him a handy.”

Travis groaned. I could feel my heart racing in jealousy.

“But Travis somehow realized that it wasn’t Expo giving him the handy, and he pulled away and turned on the light. And that’s when he saw it was the best friend, and—”

“Yeah,” Travis said. “It was a little crazy, but nothing actually happened,” he said, staring at me. “And I told Expo, ‘We’re over.’ And now we’re friends, and that’s whose party we’re going to tomorrow.”

I wanted to scream. This did not sound like a fun time.

“Yeah, but she’s cool. She’s dating some oil baron now. She doesn’t care about me. But will her best friend be there?”

“Of course,” Dominic said, laughing. “Why do you think I’m going to the party tomorrow? I can’t wait to see the drama go down.”

“No drama’s going to go down,” Travis said, rolling his eyes. “Really, Dominic.”

“What? When Expo sees that you’ve brought your new butt to the party, she’s going to go crazy.”

“I already told you. Pascal and I—” Travis said.

Dominic started laughing. “You don’t think I’m that much of a fool, do you?”

Dominic looked at me and then looked at Travis. “It’s clear as daylight to me that the two of you are fucking like bunny rabbits. Why do you think I’ve not made a move on beautiful Molly already?”
