“Because you just met her,” Travis said, frowning.

“Yeah, but you know I work fast.”

Dominic gave me the once-over. “You’re hot, and you have got a body that goes on for days. Trust me, chica. If you weren’t fucking Travis, I’d have you in my bed already.”

I felt my face going red, and Travis took a step forward.

“That’s enough, Dominic.”

“Okay, well I guess she just confirmed it,” Dominic said with a grin. “Anyway, I don’t care. I think that it’s fantastic. Whowouldn’t want to be someone who’s in their office every day? Shit. You could be like, ‘Hey honey, get me a coffee. Oh, how about a hand job?’ Lunchtime you can say, ‘That sandwich, that wasn’t that good. Can I get a blow job?’ And then right before it’s time to get off work, he can say, ‘Bend over the desk, honey. Want a quick fuck?’”

Travis’s face looked absolutely angry, and I wasn’t sure if he was going to step forward and hit Dominic or what.

“That is enough, Dominic. That’s really not acceptable.”

“My bad,” he said. “Maybe you bend her over the desk first thing in the morning.” He started laughing and then he held his hands up.

“Sorry, I can be a little inappropriate. I was on a red-eye last night and didn’t get much sleep. Forgive me, please, Molly.”

“Okay,” I said, smiling.

Though I had to admit he was one of the most inappropriate men I’d ever met in my life. And also I was worried. If he’d so easily been able to tell that Travis and I were hooking up, what was to say that other people wouldn’t be able to tell? And that’s the last thing that I needed. I didn’t want people thinking I was trying to get ahead by sleeping with my boss. I didn’t want that moniker.

I would have to make sure to be even more professional around other people. Anytime I was in public with Travis, I would have to be professional personified. I didn’t care what he said or what he did. That was the only way this was going to work.

I looked at Travis and then I looked at my watch. “Oh, I think I left some files in my room. I’ll be back.”

“It’s okay,” he said. “I’ll contact you later. You enjoy your morning off. Okay?”

“Thank you,” I said quickly and left.

Chapter 29

“You really didn’t haveto come back to the hotel, Poppy. I could’ve found you.”

“It’s fine. I wanted to come back. I was absolutely shocked when you said that Travis gave you the morning off.”

“I think he gave me the day,” I said, smiling at her.

“He did? What?”

“I mean he doesn’t know it yet.” I laughed. “But I just met one of his friends, Dominic… I can’t remember his last name. I think it was Westchester or Worcestershire.”

“Okay. And what about him?” she asked.

“He told me some crazy tales, and I just don’t know what to think about Travis and his group of friends.”

“Oh no. Why?”

“Let’s just say they’re not our sort of people.”

“What do you mean, ‘our sort of people’?”

“I mean, they’reLifestyles of the Rich and Famouson speed.”

“Well, we’re not exactly poor. Well, at least our parents aren’t.”

“Yeah, but this is totally different. My dad’s an attorney, and your dad’s an accountant. They aren’t running in circles with rich and famous people, like really rich.”
