“Ro?” I hear him sigh.

“Yeah?” He sounds so defeated and it’s crushing me that I can’t help him.

“I’m sorry.” I whisper, I wish we could have had this conversation in private but unfortunately with them being supernatural’s, we can’t escape their hearing.

“I know. I can’t focus on that right now; I have to keep my focus on Sky.”

“Okay.” I say barely above a whisper.

“I have to go.”

“Okay.” I sound like I’m on repeat, but I honestly don’t know what else to say. He ends the call and I hand Vince back his phone, my stomach is in knots, and I hate the feeling of uncertainty that is coursing through me.

“He’ll come around sis, he just needs to get through his.” I lean my head against the glass and sigh.

“I know Hunt, I just wish there was more I could have done to help him.”

“You have done every fucking thing possible for that asshole Belle. He needs to pull his fucking head out of his ass and realize that, fucking quickly or he and I will finish what we started at the alpha challenge.” The conviction and love in Cass’s voice should make me feel better, but it doesn’t. I rest my hand against my stomach and close my eyes.

I’m doing this for you Bean, I just hope your daddy can accept my decision and be there for us.

Yes, I have taken to referring to our child asbean.

“We’re fifteen minutes away.” Alex announces, my palms begin to grow clammy, and I know without a shadow of a doubt, Cairo will be feeling anxious and unsure. I wish I could go to him and try comfort him but I’m not able to do that, I know right now he needs to be in his own head ready for whatever is about to happen. We head toward the steep incline to the peak of one of the mountains, I’m about to ask Alex if he’s sure this is the right way, but when I spot the broken gates, I bite my tongue. Clearly no one is supposed to be up here at night and the council didn’t care. The tension in the car is so thick you can taste it, the closer we get, the more dread festers inside me. An ear shatteringboomsounds out and Alex swerves from the shock before aligning the car, to avoid slipping off the narrow road.

“What the fuck was that?” Blake shouts.

“I believe Sky has just succumbed to the magic inside her and unleashed it.” I answer, from what I saw in my vision, Cairo doesn’t arrive until after she has taken out the council, and I’m assuming that is what just happened. We spot other cars and Alex slams the car in park before we all burst out of the vehicle, it’s so dark out here, the only light we have to focus on is from the moon. Creed parks haphazardly near us, and they all pile out of the car, Cairo doesn’t stop like the others, he takes off through the woods and I follow after him ignoring my brothers shouts to come back. I was supposed to remain behind in the car because I’m pregnant, but in my vision, I have to be there, I know in my heart that I’m right.

I can just make out his figure in the distance and make sure to watch where my feet are landing so I don’t trip. I have no idea how he knows which direction to go, but I don’t question it, I hear the others behind me gaining on us, willing my legs to go faster. If my brothers catch me, they will march me straight back to the car and I cannot allow that to happen. I hear screams of agony and cries for help––we’re getting close. I see Cairo’s figure disappear through the brush of trees, quickly following after him, when I break through, I slam to a stop and gawk at the carnage around me.

Oh my god.

My hand flies up to cover my mouth, the rancid smell of burnt flesh and singed hair assaults my nostrils. Wolves lay on the ground whining in agony––dying. I spot some of the council members littering the ground, nearly gagging at the sight in front of me. Some of them are missing limbs and the remainder of them are burnt, the others break through the trees, and I hear their gasps. I scan the area and that’s when I spot them, Sky is standing on a dais at the other side of this clearing with Phillip kneeling in front of her, Cairo stands about ten feet away with his gaze fixated on Sky.

“You really thought you could control me?” Sky laughs but it sounds horrible, it reminds of the coughing sound a fifty-year-old smoker would make.

“You cannot––.” Phillip doesn’t get to finish, with a flick of her wrist a white light slices through him and I muffle my scream behind my hand when his head topples from his body. Sky finally turns to face Ro, and I gasp again; her face is so pale––translucent like. Black veins litter her once beautiful face, her eyes are black and that right there is the sign I needed. When Sky has used her magic before her eyes were white as I saw in my visions, the Sky we know is no longer here, the darkness has taken control of her.

“You are foolish to have come.” Ro shakes his head and takes a tentative step forward but stops when she narrows her eyes.

“I will always come for you Sky.” The devastation in his voice tells me he knows his Sky isn’t with us.

“You are too late.”

“Never! Let me fix this, I can help you––.”

“I don’t want your help!” She screams at him, her hair whips side to side as she shakes her head. “I have been repressed for far too long and I will not be caged any longer.”

“Sky, I can help you.” She glares at him.

“I will kill you.”

“Let me help you.” Her black eyes crinkle at the corners.

“You promised me you would never let this happen––.”

“Please let me help you.” She’s toying with him, using his own guilt of not being able to save his best friend against him. The way he deflates, with his head drooping forward, shows me that she is getting to him, it’s all and act and he needs to realize that.
