“Your council is dead; yourchosenmate is next––.” A growl tears from his chest and he begins to vibrate with unbridled rage.

“You take me! You leave her out of this and take me instead, I’m the one you want, not her.” Cass grips my arm and yanks me back until I’m behind him, I peer around his frame and watch as a nasty smile spreads across her face.

“I might just take you all.” She hisses and before we know what is happening, she throws her head back and in seconds the wind is whipping around us and the sounds of trees cracking fill the clearing. I scream when one topples over inches away from us and smashes against the ground with a deafening boom.

“Get her out of here!” Alexander shouts at my brothers, none of us can move, the wind is so strong, I’m fighting to stay on my feet. Hunter fights against the force of the wind and wraps himself around me, I hate that he is using his own body as a human shield for me. I peer to the side and see Cole and Creed frantically looking around, that’s when I notice what they are looking for. Callie is missing, and I would bet my life on the fact I know exactly where she is, I turn my head the other way and squint my eyes. The dust and leaves blowing everywhere is making it difficult to see, I spot a figure along the tree line near Cairo and just know that it’s Callie.

“There!” I hear Cole shout, none of us will be able to get to her in time, the sound of fabric tearing has me turning back the other way, standing there in wolf form is both Reeves brothers, they take off toward Callie, but the wind keeps knocking them back. I look to Ro and see him struggling against the wind to reach Sky, for every step he takes he gets pushed back two, it’s like he is going the wrong way on an escalator.

This is so much worse than my vision.

Chapter thirty-four

Cairo

Ifightagainsttheforce of her wind and try with all my might to reach her; I hear another tree fall in the distance and cringe. If I don’t get to her soon, she is going to bring this whole forest down and we will all be caught in the crossfire.

Shift.

What?

I can fight against this force better than you can.

I have to talk to her Bex, I can––.

She is gone Cairo.

No!

You need to accept it, she is gone.

She said before though that––.

She is playing on your weakness for her, she is gone Cairo and we have to end this before she kills our mate and pup.

I turn to peer over my shoulder using Bex’s eyes, I spot her huddled between Blake and Hunter, Alexander and Vince are gripping onto a nearby tree, Z is doing the same. I look for Cassius and the Reeves siblings but can’t spot them, I dart my gaze around to see Creed and Cole in wolf form trying to come around behind Sky, I spot another wolf gaining on them from behind––Cassius. What the fuck are they doing? I turn back to Sky and watch in horror as I see Callie approaching the Dais from behind, she has scrapes and cuts littered across her face and arms from the debris that’s flying around, she drops to her hands and knees clawing at the ground so she can get to Sky. My stomach drops when Sky spots her, she spins away from me and from the horrified look in Callie’s eye’s, she knows she’s in deep shit. Bex is right, our Sky is gone.

Take control, don’t shut me out Bexley.

I try to relax and grant him control, but my fear of what is about to happen makes it unbearable and I unintentionally fight against him.

Stop fighting me.

I try to do as he says but I know deep inside myself that when I let him take over, he will end her, and I don’t know if I can live with that. My moment of distraction cost me, Callie is sent sailing through the air and smacks into a tree near Cassius, his wolf leaps on top of her, trying to protect her but it’s futile, Sky throws him next, and then sets her sights on Creed and Cole.

“You will all perish and bow before me.” Her voice has changed, its deeper and gruff, hearing it makes the final decision for me.

Do it and lock me away Bexley.

Are you certain?

I take a shuddering breath, the sounds of Creed and Cole’s wolves whining in pain is like a bucket of ice water.

Yes, lock me down and do it Bex.
