“There are cameras in the trees.” Noah replied for her, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingertips. “Well, one that I saw but that means there are definitely more.”

I pulled back from Isabelle, arching a brow at Noah. “What are you talking about?”

“Boss, we didn’t even get one-sixteenth of the way around the island when I spotted a camera in a tree on the northeast corner of the house.” He gestured out the window in the direction they had come from. “He’s hidden them all over, I’m sure. It will take forever to find them all. We’re surrounded.

“I’m sure this place has top of the line security features.” William interjected. “Maybe it was part of the features with the house?”

Joseph sat up straighter. Isabelle trudged over to the couch, falling back on it next to him. Laura and Tanya entered the room, standing just inside the doorway. Laura shifted her weight back and forth, watching Noah.

“What’s happening?” Tanya scrunched her face, tucking her arms into her body and leaning on the wall.

Noah turned to them. “Tanya, where’s Aston?”

“He’s asleep.” She held up the baby monitor in her hand. “Have this just in case. Why?”

“I don’t think we will be here much longer.”

“Explain.” Joseph winced, shifting again on the cushion, trying to get comfortable.

Isabelle placed her hand on his leg, “Do you want me to move so you can lay back down?”

“No. I won’t be resting much until this is over.”

Isabelle’s face turned angry. She met my gaze, scowling. “Valentino, we have to end this like now!”

I nodded. “I know. You ready?”

“Of course.”

I pivoted to Laura and Tanya, lifting my hand. “Girls, come in and sit.” I strode to the couch, sitting next to Isabelle. Propping my arm up behind her, I rested my palm on her shoulder.

Tanya sat in a chair near William. He perched on the armrest and crossed his arms. Laura sat on another chair, focusing hard on Noah. Internally, I sighed, knowing it was going to be impossible to control who she saw. Choosing to ignore it for the moment, I turned my attention to Noah who had broken my concentration with his voice.

“Okay.” He took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. I was sure he was trying to calm himself. “Like I said, if there is one camera there are definitely others. And I don’t know if it’s part of the security features here or installed to spy.” He began to pace back and forth in the spacious room. “I need to access the main control panel immediately and look at the wiring. Chances are, Liam is right, and it is probably part of the home, but that doesn’t mean Felipe didn’t hack it.”

“How will you be able to survey the island quick enough?” I stood and paced behind the back of the sofa. It was impossible to be still at the moment. I needed to move. I was trying my best to keep my cool.

“I’ll do it.” He nodded once before exchanging a quick glance with Laura then scanned the room. “I know you guys are used to Joseph giving orders when it comes to security measures, but I need your understanding and respect that I won’t fuck up.” He brought his attention to me, arching a brow with a smirk etched on the corner of his lips. “If you guys want to all get out of this alive, you have to trust me. This is more than likely beyond your normal shady business, if you catch my drift.”

My chest rose. I tightened my fists. Isabelle knew that would rub me the wrong way. She glanced back at me, checking on me. I lowered my gaze on hers. She offered a small, reassuring smile. I gnawed the inside of my cheek before turning my focus back on Noah. Relaxing my fists, I nodded, just barely.

“They could be here any moment. I don’t see it being long at this point.” Peering out the window behind him, he lifted his chin. “They will strike at night and probably at the other end of that beach.”

“And you know this how?” Laura’s voice cracked as she crossed her arms under her breasts.

Noah spun to face her, sliding his hands into his pockets. “I have a lot of experience with this kind of stuff. I recognize the pattern.”

“Oh.” She averted her gaze.

Noah turned to me, eyes widening when he saw I was staring at him. “I need to go out and search the island a bit more, but I want Isabelle to stay inside.” Noah turned his attention to her. “I think you should stick with Mr. Greco right now.”

“You should take Laura with you.” William suggested before meeting my gaze. He placed the side of his fist on his mouth to hide his amusement, but his eyes were laughing.

I shot him a warning glance before looking at Noah. Darting his eyes back and forth between William and I, Noah almost appeared to be bracing himself. He then glanced at Laura out of the corner of his eye.

She blushed yet was oblivious to what had just been heard through the earpiece not long ago. Exhaling a deep breath, she observed me, waiting for my approval. When I did not immediately offer my blessing, she tilted her head. “We’re safer in numbers, right?”

Gnawing the inside of my bottom lip, I crossed my arms. “You still remember everything I taught you?”
