I hope everyone is having a great time this evening. If I can please have the bride and groom to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.

Tanya beamed with pride as William took her hand and led her to the middle of the ballroom. Pink, purple, and white lights shone on them as the music started. They moved elegantly around, both blissfully gazing into each other’s eyes. They whispered among themselves with a smile as happy tears rolled down Tanya’s cheeks.

I hooked my arm in Valentino’s, resting my head on his arm as everyone watched the lovely couple. My thoughts drifted back to what he whispered in my ear moments ago and I started to feel a familiar sensation between my legs. My hand gripped the crook of his arm a little harder.

“You’re thinking about what I said, aren’t you?”

“No.” I tried my best not to smile as I stared ahead, ignoring him.

He chuckled, patting the top of my hand with his. The rest of the wedding reception was perfect. Thankfully, we were finally able to get through an event with no drama. When we arrived home, I went straight to the closet and took my stilettos off. My baby bump was barely showing, but my back was still killing me. I let out a relievedahhhas I freed my feet and lied back on the ottoman sitting just in front of the chair in the corner of the closet.

Valentino slid is tie off and hung it up on the tie rack then unbuttoned his shirt. He was rather quieter than usual. I drank in the view as he slipped his shirt off and put it on a hanger. Then, he took it over to the dry-cleaning rack and hung up it. As he glided his belt off, I decided I could not take it anymore.

I sashayed over to him, snaking my arms around his toned, naturally tanned waist. Sprinkling his back with kisses, I circled my nails over his abs. He tensed up and spun around toward me.

“You’re quiet.” I furrowed my brow.

“I know.” He brought his belt up with a smirk as he rolled it up neatly and placed it on the closet island. “William wasn’t exactly honest with Tanya at the wedding.”

“What do you mean?” I took a step back.

He unfastened his pants and took them off. “We actually were discussing some business.”

“I figured.” Rolling my eyes, I snickered. “Anything you can discuss?”

He shook his head as he hung his pants up with the other garments to be dry-cleaned. “As much as I want to tell you, I don’t think I should until I know more.”

“Is it about Felipe?”

He pulled out a pair of grey Adidas sweatpants and stepped into them. “No, it’s about your former boss.”

My eyes widened as my mouth fell agape. “Jesse?!”

He nodded, stretching out his arms. I collapsed into his embrace, anxious to know what details he was keeping about it. He caressed my arms.

“I’m scared to ask.”

“Don’t worry about it.” He leaned back, lifting my chin, forcing my gaze to his. “We have it under control.”

“Just tell me this,” I closed my eyes bracing myself, “is he close by?”

“Not really, no, but we assume he’s still in contact with Felipe’s people.”

“How so?”

“Some friends in Boston tracked him but he’s on the Canada side of Niagara Falls.” He gnawed the inside of his cheek for a moment then continued. “The fact he’s in the same area as we were says something is a bit off.”

“A bit?!” I giggled, mostly because I was nervous all over again.

“Listen to me.” He took my hand and placed it on his bare chest. “I got this.”

“You’re not telling me something.”

He pursed his lips, amusement etching onto his face. “There’s so much I’m not telling you but it’s better this way.”

“Noted.” I sighed.

“I want us to take a vacation soon.” He changed the topic immediately as he backed away and slid a drawer open.
