He nodded, “Of course, Sir.” Gesturing to the hallway he murmured, “I will take you to see him now.”

It had been three weeks since that horrible night in London, and two weeks since Marco's funeral. I opened my eyes to a room I thought I would never see again. The sun shone through the blinds and created a perfect morning glow in the bedroom I now calledours.

Reaching over, I felt the empty space that belonged to Valentino. I knew he was possibly busy as always, working in his office downstairs. Placing my sore feet on the floor, I limped into the closet, slipping on a pair of sweatpants and one of his t-shirts.

I faltered to the elevator, taking it to the ground floor. Making my way through the familiar halls, the smell of bacon filled the air. I grinned as I veered to the kitchen before his office. As I stepped in the doorway, my eyes widened as I saw Valentino standing in front of the stove, cooking. Tanya sat at the large distressed wood table nearby reading, while William sat at the kitchen island, sipping on a cup of coffee.

“Good to see you smiling again,” I grinned, nudging William as I passed.

“Easy,” he winced, smirking, “I'm still sore.”

“Sorry,” I snickered, slightly limping to Valentino.

He held his arm out and pulled me in for a side hug as he flipped a pancake. I wrapped my arms around his waist, peering up at his handsome face.

“You're cooking?”

He placed a gentle kiss on the top of my head as he filled a plate with an abundance of food and set it next to William at the island. I glanced at both Tanya and William who had almost finished their breakfast. Valentino, turned around to face me, sipping his own coffee.

“Sit and eat.”

“I see you are back to your bossy self,Sir.”

“Oh, for fuck's sake,” William rolled his eyes, “get a room.”

“I have a room,” Valentino shrugged, “In fact, I have a whole fucking house and you are in it.”

Tanya chimed in from the table, “Guys, language!”

Valentino focused his attention on her, sarcastically mocking her, “Fucking.” He made sure to over enunciate and drag out every syllable.

I watched, snickering as I ate a pancake.

Tanya angrily crossed her arms, “My baby will not be ruined by your foul mouths.”

“Relax babe,” William defended. “If anything, they'll take after you and be a perfect angel.”

I snorted again as I tried to hold back the laughter. Tanya smiled sweetly, before it dawned on her that William was being sarcastic. Valentino turned around with a plate of food that he had prepared for himself. He bit off a piece of bacon, smirking at her.

“A real devil if you ask me.”

“Fuck you!” she snapped before gasping then rapidly cupping her mouth.

Valentino and William laughed loudly at her slip.

“Ouch,” William winced as he held his abdomen.

After breakfast, Valentino and William went to into the office. Tanya asked me if I wanted to take a walk. I shrugged because we were both still recovering but I knew I needed to get out and walk around at this point. Thankfully, no glass had gotten in the bottom of my feet but they were still painful.

We stepped out on the patio and took the wide, stone staircase down to the path. I turned around to see Joseph lurking behind us, trying to remain unnoticed. I rolled my eyes, folding my arms.

“Joseph,” I sighed, “you don't have to watch me on the property.”

He pointed to his earpiece, “Well I have orders from the boss to watch you regardless.” He brought his hand to his chin, tapping, “Miss, until we find your uncle, I will always be around you.”

Tanya giggled, amused.

I rolled my eyes again once again, smiling, “Joseph, you desperately need a girlfriend.”
