I twisted the handle to find it unlocked, allowing me to wander in and open his bedroom door.

“Tan?” I whispered softly, hearing a moan in response. It was brighter in here and it didn’t take me long to find him and when I did, bile surged up into my throat. A sob escaped my lips, and I turned and ran. The image burned into my memory forever.

Tanner lying on the bed, naked, a condom covered his cock, full of his cum. A blond passed out on his chest and a brunette lay against his thighs. The women were hard enough to witness, but the empty bottle of whiskey sitting next to them and the side table filled with white powder was worse. My body shook as I tried to hold in my emotions.

Back in my own room, I felt a desperate need to escape, so I made a call.

“Thomas, it’s Emmy. I’m in LA, but I need to leave. Now. I need to get away from Tanner. Can you help me?” I didn’t even try to hide the pain and desperation from my voice.

“Give me ten minutes, Emmy. Do not leave the hotel before you hear from me because I’m not there to keep you safe. When I text you, head outside and I will get you home.”

“Shit, I don’t have a home. I need to find a new place to live.”

“Come here. Come and stay with us and let’s get you sorted.”

“Are you sure?” My heart ached from his kindness.

“Of course. Lissa would love to see you. Let me sort your flight home and I will text you.”

While I waited for Thomas’ text, I wrote a note.

Tanner, I would have spent my life loving you, but you’ve broken my heart into dust. I hope they were worth it.

Addison, the book is nearly written. I’ll send it to you when I’m done. Thank you for my time with you all. I loved every minute until a monster broke me. Remember to listen to each other. You don’t need me to help you do that.

Emmy.

A text appeared on my phone with a registration number, so I knew I was getting into the right car. I looked around the hotel and smiled at the time I’d had with them all because, until recently, it had been fun. But now it was time to go back to real life.

I grabbed my suitcases that had been packed for days and took the elevator down to reception into Thomas’ car to go home, stepping out of the Cosmic God’s orbit for good.

Chapter 28

Tanner

Myheadhurt.Itwas too heavy to lift, and the room was spinning. I leaned over, throwing up on the floor next to my bed. I tried to remember last night, but I couldn’t. I had no memories of what I did, who I was with, or why I felt so rubbish. As I stretched out my body, I heard a woman moan.Emmy?I looked down to find two women in my bed, neither of which was my angel.

Unsure what the hell was going on, I forced myself up the bed and spotted the condom stretched across my cock, cold and full of my cum. I searched around, wincing from the pain in my skull that moving my eyes caused. It’s then I noticed the white powder on the end table and an empty bottle of whiskey on the floor.

What the hell had I done? How had I fucked up so badly and I didn’t remember a second of it?

I was going to lose everything and for what? A quick fuck and a head full of drugs?

I struggled to move, my arms and legs not seeming like my own. I tugged off the condom, disgusted with myself, tossing it in the bin near the bed. As I was pulling on my jeans from where they laid on the floor where I’d obviously thrown them, the door flew open and Addi stormed in, waving a piece of paper around in her hand.

“What have you done, Tanner? She’s gone. Left in the middle of the night. She’s done with you, with us. What did you do this time?” She froze, taking in the scene that was laid out around me. “Fuck, Tanner. I hope it was worth it because I’m out. Consider this me giving you my notice. Rylee, get these women out of here and make sure they have signed an NDA. Am I living a really shitty Deja Vu right now?”

I followed Addi in a panic, my bare feet padding silently behind her while I tried to figure out how to talk myself out of this fuck up. That’s when I saw the twins and Frankie sitting on the sofas, whispering. Frankie looked up at me with red, angry eyes, her face tear-stained.

“I don’t know who I’m angrier with right now. You for getting drunk and fucked up or her for leaving in the middle of the night, without even saying goodbye,” Addi yelled, pacing in front of me.

I held out my hands in a silent plea. Suddenly, my heart hammered in my chest. It was so fast I couldn’t catch my breath and then a shooting pain exploded in my head.

“Addi,” I gasped out before my legs gave way and I hit the floor as someone screamed.

My eyes blinked open, and it took a few seconds for the room to come into focus. There was a constant beeping that made my head hurt, and I was in a small bed, wearing some sort of gown. Suddenly, Addi leaped from the chair she was sitting in and Gray, Mav, and Frankie were all there as well, staring at me like I had two heads.

“God, Tanner. Talk about dramatic, man. You didn’t have to go to such extremes to get us to forgive you for your dickish behavior. That was scary,” Mav grumbled.
