“There is no chance of you having anything more than a kiss, firefly. Not for a while. Sleep.”

“When I wake up, can I have French toast and coffee? Please, no more soup.”

They took it in turns to place a kiss on my forehead before they stepped out of the room, promising me they were nearby, and I was safe before I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.

Ethan

“Thatfuckingcunt.Ifhe wasn’t already dead, I would kill him. She was in that hellhole for a week. Drugged, alone, in pain. What has she ever done to anyone, but love us, and surely what we do with our lives is our choice?” Gray paced the kitchen, ranting. Catching him as he moved past me, I held him tightly, while his stress, anger, and exhaustion drained from his body.

“Kiss me,” he begged.

My mouth met his, and he groaned as our tongues entwined, my hands finding his abs under his shirt. I’d been terrified to even touch him all week because I didn’t want Ivy to somehow know and think that I loved him more than her. I didn’t. I couldn’t. They had equal pieces of my heart and I couldn’t function properly without either of them.

“I love you, Gray,” I mumbled against his lips. “Thank you for holding me together this week.”

“Always, Ethan.”

Feeling his solid erection against my hip, my lips sought out his neck, pressing open mouthed kisses against his skin, desperate to taste him. “I don’t want to do anything until Ivy is ready, but I want you to feel how much I want you… want both of you. I love you too,” Grayson declared. “You both breathed light into my blackened soul.”

I was just about to make a comment about his smooth words getting him into trouble when his phone rang.

“Thomas?” he answered, putting the phone on speaker.

“Do you have any security there with you?”

“Ed’s about, but other than that and the security gates and cameras, no. They've all been working overtime looking for Ivy, so we sent them home now she's back. Why?”

“I’m on my way. Lissa’s coming too. We thought we’d come and stay for a couple of days if that’s okay?”

“You’re just popping over for a visit? Bollocks. Tell me why you’re really coming.”

“I’m worried about you. About Ivy. Hazel’s gone off the grid and well, we found some background on her.”

“What sort of background?”

“I’ll explain when I get there. Don’t go anywhere. Don’t leave the house. Don’t let anyone in. Tell Ed to secure the gates and watch the cameras. I’ll be two hours max.”

“Shit. Thank you. I know you don’t really do all this fixing stuff anymore, so I appreciate you having our back. We all do.”

“My wife would kill me if I didn’t look after her favorite band. I’ll see you soon.”

“Ed?” I yelled out, and he appeared from the garage.

“Ethan?”

“Are you playing with my car engine again? It’s a classic, you know.”

“What else do you expect me to do all day?”

“Right now, I need you to keep an eye on the house. Thomas thinks Hazel might be a problem. He’s on his way, but I need you to make sure she doesn’t get close. Set the alarms so at least we’ll know if she triggers one of them and keep an eye on the cameras. If you see her, or anyone out there, let me know.”

“I’m on it. Keep your phone close by in case I find anything.”

“Thanks, Ed.”

“What’s going on?” I turned to find Ivy standing in the doorway, looking like a disheveled princess.

“Nothing,” I replied as a reflex, regretting it the second the lie left my lips.
