Blake.

The raven-haired beauty who was promised to me to keep me happy. Those around me know not to cross me. One because of who I am, and two, my family isn’t one you want to go to war with. The Gheatas are ruthless and have no problem taking what we want.

Knowing that Blake has been out of my grasp for a year pisses me off, and many have tasted my rage over this.

“Good,” I mutter, nodding. “I’ll get everything into place, and you make sure to coax her into doing my bidding.”

“Yes, sir.”

I barely allow my toy to respond before hanging up and tossing the damn phone on top of my desk.

Leaning my head back, I close my eyes while reaching down to grasp the girl’s hair in my hands. Images of Blake fill my mind, and I forcefully fuck the mouth around my shaft until I explode. Breathing haggardly, I loosen my grip on my look-alike and shove her back.

Soon, I won’t have to imagine. Soon, I’ll have the real thing, and when I do, I’ll be sure she knows my displeasure in her not doing as she’s told. Then she’ll be mine, and I’ll show her I’m the only one allowed to do anything with her.

ChapterSeven

BLAKE

Two Weeks Later . . .

Everything seems to have gotten better in the time since Theo and I worked out our issues and what was bothering me. Having reconnected with him in more ways than one, I’m more at ease now. Doesn’t mean I’m okay with him working with Gillian.

Theo told me Gillian would be leaving within the next couple of days. I’ll be happy when the time comes. I’m tired of seeing her batting her lashes at Theo, along with the snide comments she makes about me not being good enough for him. She seems to think he needs a woman like her rather than someone like . . . well, me.

I shake off the negative thoughts that Gillian always gives me and smile. Today Mia and I are having a girl’s day. I don’t know exactly what we’re doing, but whatever it is, it’ll be fun. I’m meeting her at our favorite restaurant for lunch.

I left the house after spending a great morning in bed with Theo and kissing him as he walked me out to my car and told me to text him when I met up with Mia.

Seeing the turn, I switch on my signal and slow down to take the turn. I spot Mia’s silver BMW parked near the entrance with a slot open right next to it. Smiling, I pull into the parking spot. I grab my purse and phone off the passenger seat. Opening the door of my Mustang, I climb out at the same time Mia exits her car.

I close the door and step onto the sidewalk as I greet Mia. “Hey.”

“It’s about time you got here.” She smiles widely, joining me on the walkway. The scar on the side of her face doesn’t do anything to hide her beauty. Mia hasn’t told me what she went through, but from what Theo said, he blames himself for her being hurt in the first place. I asked him once what happened, and he said it was Mia’s story to tell when she’s ready.

Giggling, I hook my arm through hers, and the two of us walk side by side into the restaurant. The hostess recognizes us and seats us immediately—the waiter is at our table instantly. Sitting across from each other, we set down our bags and order our drinks.

“God, I’m hungry?” I murmur, picking up my phone, ignoring the menu. We’ve been here enough times, I know the thing by heart. I also know what I want.

“Same here,” Mia says, glancing at her phone. “I’ve been busy with Hellfire Dancers—I’m barely remembering to do anything, let alone eat unless I set the alarm on my phone.”

“You need a vacation,” I snicker and pull up my messages from Theo.

To Theo:

I’m with Mia at the restaurant.

I hit send and look up to Mia to find her frowning. “What’s with the frown?” I ask as my phone lights up. I ignore the message and wait for Mia.

Shaking her head, she gives me a small smile. “It’s nothing I’m not used to. Why don’t after we eat you follow me out to Hellfire Dancers.”

I quirk a brow at her suggestion and return her smile. “Okay, maybe I can talk one of the dancers into teaching me how to give a lap dance.”

Mia giggles and shakes her head. “I don’t want to think about you giving my cousin a dance, but I’m willing to bet a few of my girls can teach you a thingortwo. Theyaresome of the best, you know.”

Snorting at her remark, I take a sip of my drink as the waiter sets it down in front of me.

“Thank you,” I murmur to the young waiter and look back to Mia. “Good because his birthday is tomorrow, and I need to surprise him with something special.”
