Page 9 of Doctor Handsome

To my shame, my cock swells just as it had when Ivy Martin went all crazy on me, flashing her gorgeous hazel eyes at me and sticking out her chest before she kicked me out. The most fucking sexy woman I’d ever seen.

“Why the fuck are you smiling?” Jace demands.

“That’s an ‘I wanted to fuck her’ look,” Dylan says. “You sick bastard. You should be mad at her, not want to pull down her panties.”

“I didn’t want to fuck her,” I protest unconvincingly. It’s almost true. I hadn’t thought about actually fucking Ivy Martin, but I did wonder what shade color her hazel eyes would turn to if I sucked hard on her clit.

I fork the last of my steak and pop it into my mouth. In nine months or so, I’m going to be a father, whether I like it or not. Or even whether I choose to be involved or not.

“Maybe she’ll change her mind,” Jace says. “It’s a big thing, and when its seriousness hits her, a termination might not sound so bad.”

I remember the real anger that had been on her face when I’d mentioned the termination. “She’s not going to change her mind.”

“You shouldn’t have told her you’re part of the family,” Jace continues. “You’ve exposed yourself and us to blackmail. It would have been better if she thought you were just a regular employee.”

Dylan raises an eyebrow. “Really? With that fancy-ass car he drives?”

“Doctors make a lot of money,” Jace says.

I raise my hands in surrender. “Look, can we focus here and think of a solution?”

They both stare at me, then Dylan stretches out his hand. Not knowing what he wants, I take the offered hand.

“Congratulations, Dad,” he says solemnly.

I throw his hand off like it has poison. “That’s not what I had in mind.”

“You told us yourself that she won’t change her mind,” Jace says. “Which means you should get used to the idea of being a dad because you’ll be one in nine months’ time.”

“She said she wasn’t looking for a baby daddy,” I say.

My brothers burst out laughing.

“What?”

“I’d never thought of you as a baby daddy,” Jace says. “Dylan, yes, but you no. You were the last person I expected to have a child out of marriage.”

“You’ll notice that this was not my choice.” The idea of having a baby is beginning to take root in me.

Maybe it won’t be so bad. The added advantage is that it will take the pressure off me from our parents to procreate. I imagine a little boy who is half mine, and a seed of excitement sprouts inside me.

“When are you going to tell our parents?” Jace asks.

“Tell them what?”

“That you’re going to be a dad, and they’re going to be grandparents?” he continues, waiting as if I have a ready answer.

“I’m barely used to the idea myself,” I say. “Let’s not worry about that right now. My issue is how to get back into Ivy Martin’s good graces.”

“Are you planning on being a present dad?” Dylan says.

“Yes. If she’s going to go ahead with the pregnancy, I plan on being there all the way.”

“Good for you,” Jace says.

“If she’ll let me,” I add, recalling how fierce she had looked when she threw me out.

“Eat humble pie. Grovel. That’s how you do it,” Dylan says with a chuckle. “I’d give anything to see you groveling.”
