Kelly worked for Cade and handled all the social media for Fierce. There weren’t a lot of reasons for her to come talk unless she wanted to shoot the crap.

Kendra didn’t have the time to do that.

“How is Ella doing?”

“Good. I’m sure you heard me talking. Our offices aren’t that far.”

She knew Kelly moved around a lot. She liked to know what was going on with everyone.

“I heard some of it,” Kelly said. “How does it feel being part of the family now?”

And this was what she’d been trying to avoid for a while.

The whole office knew she was dating Ivan. Gossip spread fast but not many had said much to her.

She wondered if it had to do with Ella being here or not.

But with her boss out of the office, she might be fair game.

“Curious or looking for more?” she asked.

“I’m sorry,” Kelly said. “I like you. You’ve always been nice, even if you are a little on the plain side.”

Kendra laughed over that comment. It’d been said before. Even by Ella, though not that blunt. She laughed it off. More so since she was wearing more colors than normal to work, thanks to her mother buying them for her.

That might be considered loser status to some, but she’d keep that thought to herself.

“Nothing wrong with being plain,” she said.

“Nope,” Kelly said. “Seriously though. You’re lucky.”

“Why?” she asked.

“I’ve been working here a few years. I thought for sure Jolene would try to set me up, but nothing. I guess I’m not good enough in her eyes for a family member.”

Kendra let out a sigh. “Don’t say that about yourself. Jolene knows you more. She knows her family and who she thinks works. Who knows, maybe she’ll find someone else for you.”

“True,” Kelly said. “Liam wasn’t my style. He works way too much at night and I like to go out and have fun.”

“See. And that would have taken Devin off the list too.”

“I guess you’re right. Ivan isn’t my type,” Kelly said. “He’s more yours.”

“Because he’s plain too?” she asked with a grin.

“Exactly,” Kelly said. “Maybe I’ll mention something to Jolene. You know, ask her to find me someone?”

“Wow. Would you do that?”

Kelly sighed. “I don’t know. I’m sick of the dating scene myself. It’s getting hard and it’s tiring. She does seem to know what she is doing.”

“You’ll have to decide that yourself,” she said. “I know Ivan said his cousin Faith is probably next. She might appreciate the pressure being taken off of her.”

Kelly laughed and stood up. “You’re right. And it’s a crazy thought, to be honest. I’ll find someone at some point. No rush, right?”

“That is what I tell myself all the time.”

“Yet here you are in a nice solid relationship with someone.”
