Epilogue

Trisha

I wasn’t sure how the years had passed by so quickly, but as Marshall came over to help me remove my wedding dress that night, I was beyond glad they did.

Today had been hectic and as I stared at him in the mirror, I was happy we finally had some time to ourselves. The wedding had gone off without any problems, but I was relieved it was over and I could finally get some sleep. Savanna did a lovely job in transforming the Walker barn into a truly elegant setting.

“I’m proud of you,” he said as he kissed the top of my shoulder.

It felt like my smile was permanently in place now that we were married and I was officially a doctor.

“I’m proud of me too,” I replied and turned in his arms to kiss him. “Did you know I also had a glass of wine today?”

“Oh?” His eyebrows shot up like he was impressed. “Well would you just look at you go.”

I nodded. “Yeah, turns out when you have a support system or whatever, it makes it easier.” I said like I didn’t care.

He laughed and swung a bit with me in his arms.

“Thank you,” I said.

He furrowed his brows. “For what?”

“For just being you.”

“I am who I am because you are who you are, Trish. Don’t ever forget that. Your love turned me into the man I am today.”

I planted a kiss on his lips. “Then I guess I did a damn good job.”

“Well you had to,” he said before kissing me again. “Because now you’re my wife. And there’s no getting out of that.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing you call me your wife.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him even closer.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of saying it.” He wrapped his arms around my waist and squeezed our bodies flush together.

I laughed before he kissed me again. Little did he know I’d never get tired of calling him my husband either.

Ever.
