“You were trying to tell me something incredible, but you got interrupted, and we haven’t had time alone since.” I slid my hands onto his chest again, pushing my naked body flush against his. “But Byron, I want you to know that I love you too. You were there for me through everything, even when I didn’t know it. I don’t know what I would do without you, and I love you so much.”

Byron’s forehead fell against mine. “I love you with all my heart and soul, Louisa. All my heart and soul.”

He encircled me with his arms and lowered his lips to mine. I lifted myself onto my tiptoes and flicked my tongue against his, encouraging him to kiss me so deeply that nothing else existed aside from this moment between us.

He picked up one of my legs and wrapped it around his waist, and I followed suit with the other. Byron rested me up against the shower wall and entered me. My body welcomed him eagerly, and we breathed in each other's ragged moans as we declared our love for one another.

My relationship with Byron was slower at fully forming than it was with the others. Every time I peeled back a layer, I fell further for him. Taking our time was worth it.

Everything else could wait for now.

Solidifying my connection with him was all that mattered.

ChapterTwelve

Louisa

Wandering around the foyer of the adorable playhouse where the little pantomime was being performed, I spotted Sienna by the bar with one of the men from the other night.

“Sienna?” I didn’t attempt to hide my surprise and lifted my eyebrows at the Viking-like man by her side.

“Lou? Oh my God!” She pulled me into a hug. “You’re here to see the play?”

Jeremy rolled his eyes. “For the last time, it’s not a play. It’s a panto.”

“Panto. Right. You remember Jeremy?” She waved her hand at him.

“Yeah, how could I forget?” I wasn’t sure how genuine the smile I sent him was. I glanced back at my best friend. “So… is this a date then?”

“She wanted to learn more about what my band and I do.”

“You do… pantos?’”

“This is our first one, actually. It’s about a punk band that Jesus forms to celebrate his birthday with punk music in it, courtesy of Mad Lurchers.” Jeremy winked at us.

My smile became genuine. “So cool!”

“Isn’t it? Mad Lurchers is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.”

I stared at Sienna in disbelief. I couldn’t believe the way she was carrying on like a damn band groupie.

“What about you, Lou?” Jeremy broke through my thoughts.

I shook my head slightly and looked at him. “What about me?”

“Are they close to being your favorite band?”

“Sorry. But you’ll have a hard time prying my loyalties away from INXS and Wild Echo.”

“Wild Echo? That poncy American folk band?”

I cleared my throat and leveled Jeremy with my best glare. “The pianist and founder of the band happens to be an Australian, and they’re not strictly folk. They combine folk with pop and some Celtic and rock sounds too.”

Jeremy stroked his beard. “Hmm, a serious fan, then?”

“Yes.” I turned my nose up slightly.

“And your other favorite band is a bunch of old guys?”
