Page 69 of Craving Them

I worried my bottom lip. “Oh, that’s okay. She’s busy.”

“Hey.” He placed his finger under my chin, coaxing me to meet his gaze. “She’s your best friend. I doubt she’ll ever be too busy for you.”

Tate was right.

Although, by this time tomorrow, Sienna and I would be a continent away from each other, we would always have this bond.

With my head held high, I went to my bestie and stopped a foot or so away from her. “Happy New Year, Sienna.”

She turned her coffee-rich eyes onto me. “Oh, Lou. You, too, girl, you too.” She walked toward me, and I caught her in my arms. We hugged tightly.

I pulled back so I could stare at her. I wanted to commit her to memory because I wouldn’t be seeing her again for six months, and it was killing me.

“Our contract begins tonight. From this very moment.” Sienna stamped her foot on the grass.

I nodded. “We have our lives to lead, but this doesn’t change the fact that our lives are in different countries now. I’m determined to keep our pact.”

“Same. Maybe in six months, you and I could meet up?”

Well, damn. She certainly wasn’t backward in coming forward.

“Hell, yes! How does Paris sound?”

Her eyes lit up. “Paris in the summer? That sounds fucking awesome. Be prepared to get your shopping cap on.”

I giggled. “As long as we can also play tourist and eat all the amazing food.”

“I insist.” Sin took Ruben’s hand as Cruz draped his arm over her shoulders.

“Are we invited to Paris as well?” Ruben asked.

“No way in hell. That will be a girls’ weekend.”

Cruz sighed. “That’s too bad. I know all the best places to party in Paris.”

“Perhaps we could create a party of our own.” Augustus’ gaze perused Jack’s large, solid body.

She grinned a naughty grin. “Maybe in the future, we can include these guys for part of our meet-ups? Augustus could host a party and everything.”

“Yes!” I clapped my hands in excitement.

Cruz scratched behind his ear. “Are you ladies talking about what we think you’re talking about?”

“Cruz knows what kinds of parties I throw, don’t you, brother?” Aug clapped Cruz’s shoulder.

Cruz smirked. “The last one was epic.”

I cocked my head to the side and arched an eyebrow. “What kinds of parties do you host?”

A snicker erupted from one of them, though I didn’t quite catch who.

“If I’m getting the gist of it, it sounds like fun.” Jack scratched his beard as he appraised Sienna’s men. “Are all of you guys straight or what?”

Eric chuckled. “Asking the big questions, Jack.”

“I’m just thinking about logistics and all.”

“You’ll have to wait and find out, big guy.” Augustus smirked.
