Shit. He has me. As Luca’s captive queen, there are plenty of games to play with Winter. And while she has some on her list, I plan on adding to them. “I didn’t realize you were so observant.”

A hitch of his lips. “It was the first thing I checked.”

CHAPTERELEVEN

Winter

“I like this one best.”

Sitting on the edge of my bed with his elbows perched on his knees, Brecken tracks every movement I make. Gamely, I strut across the carpet of my room, twirling like I’m on the catwalk and loving the possessive glint in his eye as I do.

This is the fourth dress I’ve tried on. I like it as much as Brecken appears to, but I’m worried about the tight fit across my ass. The V-neck, strappy ensemble is a mixture of gold and silver, complimenting my hair. Mid-thigh in length, there’s a slit down the side. It makes the dress super revealing when I sit, but I think that’s the reason why he prefers it.

“No panties tonight.”

“Okay,” I reply, game for whatever he has planned.

“No pantyhose either.”

Just to mess with me, alluding to the mistaken identity I originally had about Luca’s surname, Brecken bought me tights and stockings from Wolford. I have a drawer full of them. “Sure.”

At my ready acceptance, he smirks. I love it when he visits me. It’s not only because he wants to manage my wardrobe for evening events, sometimes we just lounge. But he’s pretty much the only one who spends a significant amount of time here.

“Will those shoes work?” he asks, pointing to some silver stilettos.

“If you want me to dance in them, then no,” I reply. “These little booties will look cool though.”

“Try them,” he suggests.

Courtesy of a built-in heel, they boost my height by three inches. I’m still three inches shorter than Brecken, but at least I’m on par with Roo and Luca. I like not giving them neck cramps when they pull me in for a kiss.

After their talk with Balthazar and Sienna two nights ago, Brecken told me that he’s planning on sticking with the family firm. It was fantastic news, but there are still some outstanding issues. None of them know what’s going to happen about the stipulation to marry. And I don’t know if that’s got them jumpy, but I caught them whispering a time or two around me. Normally, they’re pretty open with me, especially after I stipulated back in Vail to never lie to me again.

“What’s going on with you guys right now?” I ask Brecken sliding my arms around his neck.

“Nothing.”

“What else happened in that meeting?”

“Apart from Sienna bursting into tears? Not much. We had some beer and bubbles to celebrate my commitment to the family firm. We talked about you. Dad thinks you’re brilliant, by the way.”

A huge smile breaks free. “Does he?”

A nod. A kiss on my mouth that turns into something heated and hungry. “We all do,” he stresses, pulling away to whisper against my kiss-swollen lips, “You need to move into the turret. And we want you in our office too.”

Oh, wow.

“Yeah, well, as much as I’d love to, I’m worried I wouldn’t get any work done. Staying downstairs is more productive.”

“Fuck that. We can set some rules, but I am fucking you over my desk, your desk, Roo, and Balzer’s desks,” he says in all seriousness. “As soon as, so get organized.”

“Bossy.”

“I am kind of your boss,” he points out. “One of three bosses you get to service.”

“Right. You’ve gone from VIP mystery shoppers who barely let me do anything, to overbearing, demanding bosses. Talk about a one-eighty.”

“This boss thing sounds like a hell of a lot more fun,” he murmurs, kissing down my throat.
