″Just come with me,” she sighs, opening her door. “Please don’t make Scotty force you.”

On cue, Scotty opens my side of the door, his arms crossed in front of him.

″Hey, Doc.” His voice is low and soft. And his eyes are pleading with me to come willingly.

My ribs are still sore, but if I needed to, I could probably fight. I peek my head out to get a sense of my surroundings. There’s nowhere close I could run safely to, and I’m not sure I want to risk reinjuring myself.

″Please get on the plane, Haley.” Scotty lets out an exasperated sigh.

″Fuck no. Go fuck yourselves.” I turn to Saoirse, who is peering into the car at me. “And fuck you, Saoirse. I thought you were being friendly. You’re just his puppet.”

″Haley.” Her voice is calm but stern. “Callum has something he wants you to see. That’s all this is. Trust me, I would be the first to tell him to kick rocks if this was a malicious act, and I sure as shit wouldn’t be in on it.”

My eyes narrow, glaring at her. “This is extremely manipulative. Of youandCallum. I don’t appreciate it. Take. Me. Home.”

″Scotty.” Saoirse pushes her hand off the hood of the car and closes her door. At the same time, Scotty leans in and grabs my wrists.

″Be careful of your broken bones, Doc,” he says as if he gives a flying shit about my wellbeing.

If he did, he wouldn’t be forcing me out of this stupid, overpriced vehicle and shoving me onto a stupid, private jet. He yanks me fully out of the car as my fists fly into his chest. Adrenaline courses through my veins, and I’m ready to fucking fight like a gladiator.

Scotty releases me, letting out a mumbled curse as he bends down to grab me again. Another man in a black suit hurries over. Scotty’s arms wrap around my armpits, the other man grabs my ankles, and together they haul me toward the plane.

Just like Jason all those years ago, my free will is stripped, and I want to claw out the eyes of everyone around me.

Instead, all I can muster is a broken sound as the tears I always try to hold in fall. “I hate you, Scotty! I hate you!”

His voice is strained as he croaks, “I know.”

Saoirse follows us on the plane, standing witness as two men force me into a seat then buckle me in. She sits across from me as the hatch is closed, sealing my chances of getting out of here.

″Where are we going?” I grumble at Saoirse.

″He didn’t want me to say. But it’s a long flight.”

″Of course,” I huff, brushing hair from my face.

″He misses you.” Her eyes are soft when she speaks.

I turn away, a scowl on my face. “He can eat glass.”

A flight attendant shows up, smiling as she hands a glass of wine to Saoirse. She turns to me, blonde hair tucked in a tight bun with wide, brown eyes. “Ma’am. May I get you a drink?”

″Water, please,” I say.

″No alcohol? We have wine, whiskey.Vodka.”

The word vodka drips off her lips, enticing. Her nostrils flare as she smirks, almost as if she knows about my alcohol dependency. I shake my head at the thought. No. There’s no way.

″Jane. I thought Callum requested you not to work our flights anymore,” Saoirse says.

″Oh, I just figured it was okay since he isn’t here,” Jane says. She shrugs as she straightens her posture and runs her hands along her skirt.

″Why did Callum request she not work the flights, Saoirse?” My tone is threatening as I challenge them. I turn my gaze from Jane to my ex-boyfriend’s sister.

″Because he’s tempted by my lips wrapped tightly–”

″That’s enough,” Saoirse barks before Jane can finish the sentence.
