Her eyes lit up. “I think I’ll go check those out,” she said rising to her feet.

“I’ll help you.”

Two hours later, Midnight stretched and rolled onto her side, putting her hand on Junayd's chest. She rested her chin on her hand and studied him. His face was relaxed. He had a satisfied curve to his lips and was gently caressing her lower back down to the swell of her buttocks.

“What are you thinking?” she asked.

“About you,” he murmured.

She pushed up into a sitting position. Her legs curled to the side. She ran her fingers across his broad chest, enjoying how the dark coarse curls felt under her palm.

“What about me?”

He moved his hand along her leg up to her thigh. She fought back a groan. How did he do this to her? They had just made love like two bunnies hyped up on caffeine and her body was ready to go again.

“I’ve asked Ashar to draw up a marriage contract,” he said.

Her eyes widened with surprise. His hand tightened on her hip when she tried to move away from him. She pushed against him, rolling out of his reach and off the bed.

She shook her head and stared back at him with a cautious gaze. “Why would you do that?”

Junayd sat up. The covers fell to his waist, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of dark, curly hair. She silently cursed and forced her eyes back to his face. She scowled at him when she noticed the amusement in his eyes. He knew exactly where her mind had strayed to—and he liked it.

“Are you on any type of contraceptive?” he asked.

She shook her head in a jerky motion. “No. I…. This was… unexpected,” she muttered, waving a hand at him.

“I didn’t use any form of protection the first time we made love and we have missed a time or two in between,” he pointed out.

She scowled at him. Of course she remembered the times they forgot to use a condom… and yes, she knew the potential consequences. It was just every time she got near him her brain took a vacation to some erotic sex island.

“That still doesn’t explain why you had your guy write a marriage contract,” she snapped.

“You might be pregnant with my child.”

She lifted her chin. “Mightbeing the keyword. There’s no sense in jumping the gun. Even if I am, it isn’t like we’ve got to get married. Marriage brings all kinds of headaches that can easily be avoided by not having one,” she retorted.

He rolled off the other side of the bed. This position put him between her and the bathroom. She was beginning to feel claustrophobic in the confined space.

Planes really aren’t much different than elevators. They just take a longer time to go up and come back down, she decided, eyeing the bathroom as an escape.

“Midnight…habibi, look at me.”

She did as he requested… before promptly looking away again. “I need to get cleaned up. You said you’d feed me dinner,” she said.

He came around the bed. She tried to back up, but there was nowhere to go. The side she had gotten out of only had about two feet of space next to the airframe. The cold metal behind her made her shiver.

“I will feed you, but you need to understand that our marriage will happen. Any child that we create will be part of the Jawahir royal family,” he said.

She moved her hand to cover her stomach. Unease built inside her. There was no guarantee she was pregnant yet. He was worrying about something that might not even be an issue.

“Then let’s hope there isn’t a baby on the way because marriage between you and me would never work,” she quietly replied.

He reached up to cup her cheek but she turned her face away from him. A frown creased his brow at her rejection, and at the moment, she couldn’t deal with his emotions on top of her own.

“I want to get cleaned up—alone,” she said, the hard tone of her voice was matched by the steel in her eyes.
