My stomach growled once more, and I mentally whimpered about my loss of food. I’d gone days without food. I could last a few more hours. I sniffled as I turned on my heels and headed back out.

“Kee?”

“Have to go study,” I said as I waved bye to Mac and the possibility of a delicious meal.

I made my way across campus, my stomach rumbling with every step. Hopefully, Samson would make this quick, and I’d still be able to get something to eat. Opening the library door, I felt all hope fizzing away. It wasn’t just Samson at the table waiting for me but all four kings.

“Corpse!” Hawke shouted, and I flinched. Well, there went escaping unnoticed.

I sighed as I walked in. The librarian glared at me as if I had been the one to shout. It was annoying how all the teachers and staff refused to look the kings’ way when something happened. How much fucking power did they hold? They were seniors in high school just like me, yet it was like the world viewed them as something more.

Hawke pulled me in for a hug, and I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t like them. They felt warm and were easy to melt into. Who would have ever thought being hugged by a psycho would feel so good?

“Finally. You’re slow. It should have taken you so long. It is approximately—”

“I had other plans,” I said, cutting Samson off. I didn’t want to hear the numbers. The torture was missing out on lunch. There was no room for boredom.

“Have a seat, Corpse,” Luxious said.

His voice was like silk. However, because it came out of his mouth, I was more pissed than subdued.

Rem chuckled, and my attention was drawn to her. “You can sit on my lap.”

Flames of desire licked up my spine, and I realized things had changed at some point. I’d always found them attractive, but my lust for them was increasing.I’m going to need some serious fucking therapy when I get free.

“She’s sitting with me,” Hawke said.

Rem’s feet dropped to the floor, her heavy boots thudding against the ground. “No, you had her during the last study session. It’s my turn.”

“What am I a toy?”

They both ignored me.

“Close enough,” Samson said.

He had that pretty boy smile, but his eyes were nothing more than a dead shell. It was like looking at a painting, beautiful but empty. Rem and Hawke continued to go back and forth, becoming increasingly louder with every passing second. We were in a damn library, yet they were treating it like we were outside.

Hawke picked up a book and threw it at Rem. She dodged it and pulled out a knife.

“Enough.” Luxious’s voice broke through the commotion.

I looked between them, and both were sporting a smile.

“Ah, come on. He’s practically asking to kiss the pavement,” Rem said.

Hawk laughed. “You tease.”

“No, you both are causing a big commotion. Corpse will have a seat right here.” He pointed to the seat next to him.

Now, wait a minute.I placed my hand on the table and leaned forward, staring into Luxious’s gorgeous eyes. Fuck, why was he so hot, and why in the hell was my body heating? One taste, and my damn pussy was pining for his cock.Down, girl.

“Sit, Corpse.”

“Do I look like a dog to you?”

I was vaguely aware that the library went from its normal silence to an eerie one. I could feel eyes on me, making my skin crawl. Yet, I bit the inside of my cheek and stayed strong. Whenever I thought I was making headway with the kings and this damn school, it was tossed right back in my face.

Lux didn’t back down from me. He leaned closer, his scent drawing me in. “I said sit.”
