It felt like my heart skipped a beat.

Rome’s expression flattened at the interrupting knocking. He turned toward the trailer’s door and shouted, “What?”
The door opened a few inches and Jeff’s face appeared in the crack. “Wanted to give you the updated call sheet.” He pushed a sheet of paper through the small opening. “Your midday break got pushed back. And they need you in wardrobe in twenty-five.”
“Fantastic.” Rome grabbed the paper and slapped it down on the table. He swung back to me as a victorious glint in his eye appeared. “I’ll see you then.”
The door slammed closed and Rome prowled over to it, twisting the tiny lock, before facing me again. “Just enough time to do everything I wanted.”
My fight-or-flight instincts screamed at me.Danger.Predator. But I was trapped. The trailer might’ve been bigger than my apartment, but that didn’t mean I had room to run.
A smug little grin curved Rome’s lips like he could hear what I was thinking.
Heart racing and my nipples tingling, I did the only thing I could think of.
I dropped to my knees in front of him and reached for his pants.
“Wha—Oh no.” Rome grabbed my hands before I could unzip his fly. “Do you seriously think I’d let you manipulate me like that?” Still holding my hands, he pulled me to my feet and then bent, put a shoulder to my stomach, and lifted me in a fireman’s hold—over his shoulder.
“Rome!” I shrieked. “Put me down! Seriously. What guy turns down a blow job?”
Rome’s hand came down on my butt in a stinging slap I heard before I felt. And made other parts of me tingle too.
“I’m not letting you control this torture session,” he retorted just before I heard the sound of a door opening. “We’ll have plenty of time for you to repay the favor later tonight.”
