“Thank you for seeing me,” the girl said, her voice husky and excited, “Daddy.”

Vince whirled around in his seat to see her. She was standing next to him, her hands clasped behind her back as she stared down at him.

“You,” Vince spat. “It’s you.”

Claire grinned. Her curly, golden-brown hair was tied back, revealing her slender neck. As soon as Vince saw it, he knew he wanted to put his lips on her tender skin there, tasting her. He grimaced and turned away. He couldn’t control himself around her, not even for a minute.

“Of course it’s me,” she said, clearly not sensing how uncomfortable he was with her presence. “I had to see you again, Daddy.”

“Stop calling me that,” Vince snapped. “Just stop. Okay?”

“Why? Don’t you want me to?”

“Clearly not,” Vince said. “Say what you have to say and then leave. You’re literally ruining my life.”

Claire’s big blue eyes widened, revealing her hurt. Vince didn’t care. He wanted her so badly but he couldn’t let himself fall into that trap.

“I’m not going to leave,” Claire said, her bottom lip quivering. “I’m here because we’re supposed to be together, you and me.”

“We’re not,” Vince growled. “I’m with the woman I love. And that’s not you.”

“But—”

“But nothing!” Vince shouted. “I’m not going to do anything with you! I love my wife!”

His words cut deeper than he intended. Claire’s eyes instantly welled up with tears and her lip quivered. She took a couple of steps away from him, clearly struggling to keep everything together.

“I’m sorry,” Vince said. “You’re just putting me in an awkward position. My wife isn’t taking what you did very well. My marriage is falling apart because of your actions. Do you understand?”

“You want me,” Claire said, choking back tears. “I know you do. That wife of yours is no good. You should be with me instead.” Claire slapped her hands over her face and sprinted out of the restaurant.

Without thinking his actions through, he followed her, his eyes staring at her impossibly short skirt as it flapped behind her. She rushed outside and let out a loud sob as she searched the street, looking for a cab. Vince grabbed her elbow and dragged her back to the restaurant. The way she looked up to him, so hurt and confused, made his heart ache. It wasn’t her fault that she had a teenage obsession. And she was right, he did want her, even if it was wrong.

“I get it,” she sobbed. “You’re not interested.”

Claire tried to tug her arm out of his grasp but Vince wouldn’t let her. He just stared down into her eyes, feeling something inside of him stirring.

“Let me go,” she said, tears streaming down her face. “Please, just let me go.”

Vince was becoming lost in her body, the way her blouse clung around her perky breasts, the way the buttons were barely holding the material together. A low grumble came out of his throat as he leaned down to her, smelling her perfume. It was flowery, intoxicating.

Before he could stop himself, Vince leaned down and pressed his lips against Claire’s. His hand moved from her elbow and grabbed her hips, lifting her tiny body into the air and pressing her back against the wall of the restaurant. Her legs wrapped around his waist and she hoisted herself against his body. She wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and thrust her tongue into his mouth, letting it explore. Vince could feel the throbbing in his pants, pressed right against her pelvis. He breathed heavily as he continued to probe her, feeling his breath misting against her cheek.

He opened his mouth wider, letting his tongue go deeper into her mouth, his hands grabbing her body and yanking it closer to his. Loud, aching groans came from his throat, telling Claire just how much he wanted to violate her right there on the street.

When he finally regained control of his body, he de-tangled himself from Claire and stumbled away from her, staring into her eyes as his mouth hung open.

“What did I …” Vince put his hand over his open mouth and felt Claire’s saliva on his lips.

“Daddy,” Claire groaned. “Take me home. Tonight. Now.”

Vince shot daggers at her. “I will never,” he snapped. “This was a huge mistake.” He rushed away from her, leaving the restaurant and his reservation behind. He didn’t care. All he knew was that he needed to get back to his wife and tell her what he’d done, how he’d betrayed her completely.

His heart sank through his chest as he realized this was probably the nail in the coffin of their marriage. There was no going back from this. Lorelei would leave him, without a doubt, and he would have nothing left in this world.
