“Give me a sec,” Marshall told him, eyes closed and intense concentration on his face. “It’s been a long time, and you feel so. Fucking. Good.” The last few words were punctuated with thrusts that had Aaron crying out.

Aaron hooked his ankles around Marshall’s waist and urged him on. Together, they built up a steady rhythm that had heat racing through Aaron’s body. He tried to keep his eyes open, watching Marshall’s face as he ground into him. A gasp escaped him, and his eyes slammed shut as Marshall hit his prostate.

“There. Right there,” he said, reaching for his cock.

“Not going to last much longer,” Marshall heaved out. “Tell me you’re close.”

Aaron nodded, having lost the capability of speech. He shuttled his hand up and down his length as sparks zapped through his body.

Marshall tweaked his nipples, sending a bolt of heat through him. Aaron threw his head back, exposing his throat. Marshall gave a growl of satisfaction as he lapped at the heated skin before biting down hard. Light exploded behind Aaron’s eyes as his orgasm slammed into him. Marshall’s cry echoed his own as he felt Marshall fill him with his release.

Full body tremors wracked through them both as they gulped oxygen. Marshall gently lapped where he’d bitten Aaron, creating goosebumps. Slowly, their breathing returned to normal, and Aaron hissed when Marshall pulled out of him.

Marshall trailed his fingers over Aaron’s rib cage, his gaze intent on Aaron’s face.

“You’re amazing,” he whispered huskily.

Aaron cupped his jaw and drew him in for a slow, languid kiss. “You’re not so bad yourself.”

They kissed and petted for a few minutes until Marshall drew away and rolled off the bed. Aaron took his fill as he tracked him to the bathroom. He returned with a towel and dampened cloth and gently cleaned Aaron up.

After returning them to the bathroom, Marshall climbed into the bed and pulled the covers over them. Aaron sighed and tucked in next to his mate.

“What happens now?” Marshall asked, his voice low. His hand tracing patterns along Aaron’s arm and shoulder, and both Aaron and his wolf liked the feeling.

“We nap and then go for round two?”

Marshall pinched his shoulder, and Aaron jumped in surprise. “What? It was a valid answer.”

“Not the answer I was looking for.”

“I know.” Aaron propped himself up on his elbow, resting his other hand on Marshall’s chest. “I didn’t mean to make light of it. How do you see things working?”

“Even though it’s going to be a bitch, I can always commute between here and Stone City. I’m presuming that now we’ve sealed the bond, we can actually be apart from each other without getting sick.”

“Hmm. No doubt Sam will want to take blood samples to compare.” He laughed at Marshall’s groan. “Hopefully, it will be the last time he’ll need to.”

“Goddess, I hope so.”

“Will you have to go into the city every day?” he asked.

“Maybe? Saint and I need to sit down and review our business plan. If the part-timers work out, then I can reduce my teaching time. I could get away with going in two or three days a week. I can do a lot of the admin side of it remotely, so I could work from here.”

“I can always come into the city with you, too,” Aaron said. “I can adjust my schedule so I can work from the city. Josh is more than capable of running the day-to-day stuff, as are the managers at our various businesses.”

“Will the Pack be okay with that?”

“They’ll have to be. My mate comes first, then Pack.”

“And how do you think they’ll react to you mating with a human?”

“They won’t care. Just like I don’t care that you’re human.” He cocked an eyebrow. “I haven’t forgotten that little dig you gave earlier.”

“What dig?”

“The whole‘I’m sorry you’re stuck with a human who can’t shift’spiel. That has never occurred to me once. I’ve never cared what my mate would be, shifter, human, mage, vampire. As long as they are a good person, then that is the most important thing.”

“You haven’t known me long enough to know if I’m a good person or not,” Marshall countered.
