"Giselle, look at me." He squeezed her hands. She looked up, and he smiled calmly. "This means nothing, okay? I need you to tell me that it means nothing."

She stayed silent.

"Tell me, Elle. Say that it meant nothing."

Her voice shook as she repeated, "It meant nothing."

He smiled. "Good. Now I want you to say that you're not unfaithful."

She closed her eyes, a tear rolling down her cheek. "I'm not unfaithful."

"Say it again, Elle."

"I'm not unfaithful."

"Firmly. I want you to believe it."

She looked at him, steady. "I'm not unfaithful."

"That's my girl," he murmured. "Now say that you're perfect."

She shook her head.

He squeezed her hands and said firmly, "Say that you're perfect."

"Chris—"

"Say it!"

She sighed. "I'm perfect."

He rose one brow. "I'm sorry, did you just say you were perfect?" he said, feigning shock. She looked at him in surprise. "Have you seen your teeth, Dracula?"

It took her a moment and then she burst out laughing. "God, I hate you!" She threw her head back, her sweet laughter echoing.

Chris stared at her with longing and a smile on his face, as he drank up the soothing sound of her giggles.

She sniffed, blinking away the tears, unable to wipe them away as her hands were trapped in his, and looked at him with a devastating smile on her face.

"Abby is lucky," she said, squeezing his hands back.

"I know, Giselle. I'm perfect."

She shook her head, grinning. "I'm sure you need facial surgery."

He grinned back.

"Chris?" she called, her smile fading.

"I'm here."

"Does this change anything?"

He pursed his lips, shaking his head. "It was a spur of the moment. It's okay. It was just a kiss. Friends kiss."

She rolled her eyes. "Not like that."

"It was pretty good, wasn't it?"
