“You definitely will,” Lex added. “They only make it here. I don’t want to kill the surprise.”

“Well, then.” Arden grinned. “Before this, my idea of a fancy night out was getting something besides the cheapest cocktail they had.”

“We’ll show you just how much fun we can have.” I pressed my lips to the side of her neck, savoring the shiver that rippled through her.

The attendant came back with our drinks in lowball glasses. Arden lifted the glass toward the light, catching the shimmer in the dark blue liquid. We all tapped our glasses together. I kept my eyes on Arden as she took a sip, her eyes widening with pleasure when she swallowed. The smoky and sweet flavor spread over my tongue, spreading heat down my throat and into my stomach.

“Good, yeah?” Lex said, standing with his drink. “Come on, let’s dance. I love this song.”

Arden took his hand, excitement rippling through our bond. The knot in my chest I’d been carrying around since sensing her frustration and sadness at the lack of leads on the Order finally loosened. Now I could make it even better for her. And for me. I wasn’t joking when I told her that dress wasn’t going to last the night. Seeing her here, her hips moving to the music, was weakening my resolve to keep things reasonably chaste while we were in public.

“Are you coming, Jagger?” Arden asked.

“Yeah.”

I took her other hand, and she laced her fingers in mine. The dance floor around us cleared once we came down the stairs, but I didn’t care. I pressed my front against Arden’s back, my arms going to her hips. She put her arms around Lex’s neck, pulling him as close as she could.

We fell into the rhythm of the pounding music, our bodies swaying together. Arden ground her ass against my crotch, making my already semi-hard cock even harder. The longer we danced, the more Lex put a few inches between himself and Arden, even though he probably didn’t want to. Arden grinding against me, the hem of her already short dress sliding up and up, was inching dangerously close to dry humping. Flint’s spell said no sex and nothing underneath the clothes. One wrong move, and Lex’s hands were going under Arden’s dress.

“Guess we’re going to see how much we can toe the line of this spell tonight,” Lex said to me over Arden’s shoulder. He glanced down into her cleavage, then stared up at the ceiling as if he were trying to summon some patience and self-control.

Flint and that fucking spell. Lex’s balls were going to explode by the end of the night.

Attendants brought us more drinks on the dance floor, never leaving us with empty glasses. The crowd inched toward us the longer the evening went on, enveloping us in a sea of undulating bodies. In the rare instances of a slow song, we sat down in the lounge, but those periods never lasted long. Arden was the one dragging us back onto the dance floor.

Arden turned to face me eventually, swaying her hips just so. The heat of all the bodies in here had her cheeks flushed, her skin dewy with sweat. Trying not to kiss her when she looked up at me through her lashes like that was fucking impossible. I cupped the back of her neck and brought my lips down on hers. After over an hour of grinding, taking in her clean, grassy scent and feeling her body against mine, I was a goner.

I pulled her to me, my hand going to her ass, brushing against Lex’s thigh in the process. Lex’s groan made me open one eye. He had his forehead resting against the crook of Arden’s neck, the spot she loved me to suck on. And Lex, too, before all of this bullshit.

“You okay?” Arden asked, turning to look at Lex over her shoulder.

“Just barely, Kitten.” Lex chuckled, though the sound was far from his usual bright and warm laugh. “It’s really fucking hard to be so close, but so far, you know?”

Arden faced him head on, giving him a hug. He inhaled the scent of her hair, amplified by the heat of the room, and squeezed her tight. I didn’t need a mate bond to know both of them weren’t happy with the current arrangement.

Then, an idea clicked in my head. Lex was going to hate me for it at first, but we had to use a loophole to get him some relief.

“Let’s get out of here,” I said. “We can have more fun back at the palace.”

An attendant grabbed Arden’s bag from the VIP lounge, and we left. Stepping outside into the cool night air was a relief, as was sitting in the back of the black SUV our security had brought around. We all sat in the back, Arden between us again. I put up a privacy spell between the front and backseat, cutting us off from the driver.

“Did you have fun?” I asked Arden, resting my hand on her thigh just below the hem of her dress.

“Yeah! The DJ was great. And that drink was amazing. I’m still a bit buzzed.” Her legs parted for a moment before she crossed her ankles together, almost demurely. “Did you have—oh.”

I slid my hand up higher, my pinky touching the apex of her thighs. She sucked in a breath when I kissed the side of her neck, sliding the hand that was between her legs up her stomach.

“What the fuck are you doing, Jagger?” Lex asked, his eyes traveling up and down Arden’s body.

“Having a little fun.”

“I don’t think…” Arden’s voice trailed off when I cupped her breast.

“We can’t change the fact that you agreed to that stupid fucking spell with Flint. But you can watch and tell me exactly what you’d do to Arden if you were in my place. Give yourself some relief from those blue balls you’re dealing with,” I said, locking eyes with Lex.

“Jagger.” His nostrils flared, his eyes blazing. In his frustration, he kicked up a small breeze around us. He wasn’t like me—he had a strong grip on his element, even when he was emotional. I squeezed Arden’s breast, just to push him further.

“This is a onetime offer, Lex.” I pulled at her nipple. “Do you really think you’ll have another chance to order me around?”
