“That’s a lot of flowers.”

“This is nothing,” she said. “There are more in the coolers back there. That is where we store the loose ones and the arrangements made. I try to get what I need fresh daily or every other day from the greenhouses if they aren’t delivered here.”

“So you don’t grow everything?”

“No,” she said. “I’d love to, but it’s not feasible. Some don’t do well in this climate or soil even though we adjust for that. In the long run, the time and money to do it isn’t always worth it when we don’t have a great need for things.”

“That’s efficient,” he said.

“Kind of like you,” she said, bumping her hip into his. Yeah, totally making a bigger deal out of something in his mind.

“Jasmine.”

He turned when a woman came back. “Poppy. This is Wesley.”

“Ohhhh,” Poppy said, coming forward. He knew her as the middle sister. “You need to come tell us when you’ve got a guy in the building.”

She laughed. “Sorry about that. I wasn’t thinking that you haven’t met yet. He came to see if I could go to lunch and I just wanted to finish these two orders up.”

“Then come with me, Wesley, and I’ll introduce you to Rose.”

He looked back at Jasmine and saw the smile on her face, her waving at him while Poppy pulled him out of the room into a hall and down to another back room.

“Maybe she’s busy,” he said.

“Not too busy to meet Jasmine’s man.” Poppy knocked on the door and opened it. He heard the music going and a woman he assumed was Rose whipped around to see who walked in and then her glare softened.

“Sorry,” he said.

“Don’t be sorry. Rose, get that look off your face. This is Wesley Wright. He came to take Jasmine to lunch. Wasn’t that nice of him?”

Rose stood up and walked toward him. “Very nice,” Rose said, extending her hand out. “Did you want to see me for a piece or something?”

“Not at the moment,” he said, grinning at her smirk.

Then he got thinking maybe he would at some point. His eyes went to the ring on each of the sisters’ fingers. All were flower engagement rings. They were stunning and not over the top. Well, Poppy’s was, but he’d heard about Poppy’s husband and his wealth.

“If you ever get to that point, you know where to find me,” Rose said, smiling.

“Poppy, there you are.” He turned and saw Ivy standing there. “Wesley. What are you doing here? Oh, are you getting a ring for Jasmine?” Her voice lowered, some excitement in it.

“No,” he said. “I’m taking your sister to lunch. She’s finishing something up and Poppy brought me here to meet Rose. How do you like your new job?”

“I love it!” Ivy said. “I’m running around like crazy learning all sorts of things. I can’t wait to work with Lily, but for now I’m told she isn’t to be bothered.”

“Lily is still calling you, Ivy,” Rose said. “We know. No reason to fib to us.”

Ivy lifted her chin. “I’m not bothering her.”

They all could read between the lines on that statement. “I’ll let you all get to work and go check on Jasmine,” he said. “I won’t pull her away too long.”

“Pull her away,” Poppy said. “Everyone needs to be saved from work by their man now and again.”

He shook his head and made his way back to Jasmine. She had one piece finished and was working on another.

“Did they smother you?” she asked. “Poppy can tend to do that.”

“She was fine. Ivy came in looking for her when we were in Rose’s office. She seems happy.”
