“I haven’t brought it up before now, but when I was putting together arrangements for weddings, I got thinking, some brides might like a personal touch. Something of Poppy’s that maybe they can use or wear in the future. The flowers only last a few days, but having the bouquets covered with a silk scarf on the outside might be a nice touch. Floral barrettes or broaches that you make attached.”

“I love it,” Poppy said, almost bouncing in her chair. “And I’m bummed I never thought of it myself. Why didn’t I think of that, Lily?”

“Because you can’t stand to be in the flower shop for more than passing through and talking to people,” Lily said.

Poppy put a cute pout on her face. “Not true.”

“It kind of is,” she said.

“Fine. You win. Yes, it’s true,” Poppy said. “I love this idea. There are so many things we can do. I want to get working on it now. We can get some pieces and put them on the website.”

Jasmine grinned, thrilled they loved the idea. “That was my thought. I can put together a few bridal bouquets and we can look at some pieces you’ve got that you think will go well. Or I can do the bouquets around the accessories you pick out?”

“That’s a better idea,” Poppy said. “Let’s go see what material I’ve got that catches both of our eyes and then go put some flowers with it and you can create from that. If you’re not too busy today?”

“I can make time to get things sorted and set aside,” she said, smiling.

“Are we done?” Poppy asked. “Lily, got anything else? Once we’ve got it together you can work up prices.”

“That works for me,” Lily said. “Have fun.”

Poppy was pulling her up and almost yanking her out of the room. The two of them laughing down the stairs and making enough noise when they went into Poppy’s office that Rose yelled, “What’s so funny?”

“None of your business,” Poppy yelled back. “You’ll just rain on our happiness parade.”

Jasmine giggled a little over that and thought of the times she and her sisters snuck off without her brothers.

“That wasn’t nice,” she said.

Poppy waved her hand. “She doesn’t want to come in here anyway. Tell me about this hot guy,” Poppy said, “while I find the perfect material and pattern.”

She watched as Poppy was pulling swatches of material out. “That one is pretty.”

“Yep, doable,” Poppy said, putting it aside. “But we can do better. The guy?”

“Wesley,” she said. “Good looking, as I said. A little rushed and didn’t want to be there. Kind of like a male version of Rose.”

“I heard that,” Rose shouted.

“That is why I said it as loud as I did,” she shouted back to Rose.

Poppy winked at her and pulled out some more pieces of fabric. “Sounds like a mystery to me.”

“Definitely that,” she said. She decided to add, “You could tell he’d just recently taken a wedding ring off.”

“Rebound,” Poppy said. “Good for fun but nothing else.”

She sighed. “I figured. I haven’t had that situation come up yet.”

“You’re not going to know until you try. If you want to try. That’s the big question.”

“You know, I kind of do,” she said.

“Then go for it,” Poppy said. She picked up the pieces of material in her fist. “Now let’s get to those flowers and I’ll give you a bunch of ideas to try to get his attention.”

“I might need them,” she said, being dragged back to the workroom behind the flower shop. But for now she was going to focus on her job because she just loved it too much to not.
