“Are you going to at least tell me why you were in the bathroom with him?”

“I wasn’t! I heard a noise, went up to check on him, and heard him in the shower. This is all your fault! And I suppose me winning at poker tonight was your doing as well.”

“You won! How much did you win?”

I sighed, then turned my car on. “Does it matter? Hollie, whatever you did tonight to Shawn, he is acting like a crazy man. I had to stop him from leaving his house. He wanted to go find Kristin. He said he had to…touch her.”

She gasped. “Oh, dear. Oh, okay. Well…um…wow.”

“Yeah, my thoughts exactly.”

“Maybe we shouldn’t have used the smudge stick. I’m sure what Kristin said during the spell didn’t help either.”

Shaking my head, I counted to ten and chanted in my head,She’s a new witch. She’s a new witch.

“What spell did you put on him?”

Hollie paused for a moment. “It was a simple notice me spell, but I think we might have tweaked it a bit.”

“You think you might have? Did you not learn your lesson the first time?!”

“Don’t yell at me, Lucas Dayton!”

I drew in a deep breath. “I’m sorry. Okay, let’s start over. Whatever you did seems to have made Shawn obsessed with Kristin.”

“Define obsessed.”

“I’m tired, it’s late, it’s snowing. I’ll talk to you when I get home. Is Kristin still there?”

“Yes, she’s sort of passed out on the sofa.”

With a tired exhale, I said, “I’ll be home soon.”

“Be careful. Lucas?”

“Yeah?”

“I love you.”

“I love you more, babe.”

Hollie

I jumped off the sofa when I heard the front door open. Lucas appeared and glanced over at Kristin.

“Is she passed out?” he softly asked.

“No, she was tipsy but not that drunk. She’s just sleeping. Let me cover her up, and I’ll meet you in the bedroom.”

Lucas let out a long, exhausted sigh before he turned and headed toward my bedroom that we both now shared. We seemed to split our time between both of our places.

As I covered up Kristin, she mumbled a thank you and let out a snore. Smiling, I whispered, “You’re welcome.”

Making my way out of the living room, a sudden thought came to me. I should have a cat. Shouldn’t all witches have cats? Shaking off the thought, I hurried to the bedroom and heard the shower going. Locking the bedroom door, I quickly slipped out of my sweats and joined Lucas in the shower.

The feel of the hot water hitting my skin caused me to let out a moan of pleasure before I pressed my body against his back.

“You feel so good,” he said as he turned and looked down at me.
