I swallowed hard.

“Yes, Daddy.”

He kissed me, much more fiercely this time. When he finally pulled away to leave, I lifted my fingers to my tender lips, touching them where his had been. Electric fiery tingles raced through me, over and over without an end.

I’d called him Daddy.

And he’d liked that.

CHAPTER11

Kieran

Holy fuck.

She was absolutely perfect. I was supposed to have my mind on business, but all I could think about was the utter flawlessness of Leah O’Connor. I’d imagined her doing a great many things before last night, but nothing would ever compare to the innocent look in her eyes, the pink blush painted across her cheeks, and her quiet little cries as my hand painted her backside bright pink. The marks my belt left on her gorgeous ass had been breathtaking, but the feel of her tight pussy squeezing my cock had been heaven.

I was hard as a rock just thinking about it. I wanted to turn back around, tear her pants down, and sink into her again and again, but I couldn’t.

There was a shipment incoming at the docks that needed seeing to first, followed by a laundry list of other commitments I needed to handle. Several businesses that were formerly under the protection of myself and my family hadn’t made payment and it was up to me to go to collect before I decided to send my enforcers. First, though, I needed to check in with the gentleman’s club on the south side.

My brother Cillian was in charge of that, and he’d caught wind that several of our bookies were under the watch of several undercover cops, so I’d put in a call to my contact down at the station to chat.

My role as boss wouldn’t stop just because I’d found the woman that might just be the one.

Ten years ago, my mother and father had been killed and my brothers and I had been chased out of town by the Gallagher family. We’d found our way to Boston and settled here. I’d taken on the responsibility of my entire family once we arrived, building up our name and reputation until it truly meant something.

The Murphy family name brought respect and a healthy sense of fear. My need for vengeance had long burned away. The Gallaghers had been replaced by another more than five years ago and I’d focused on the well-being of my brothers, my cousins, and my sister here in the States.

I’d been very successful. I ran several illegal gambling dens that bet on sporting events throughout the country with a heavy emphasis on horse racing as well as card games such as blackjack and poker. I owned a few slot machines, but I didn’t base my business solely on those.

I had several docks under my control that managed imports of all kinds, drugs, weapons, alcohol, you name it. I only traded in goods though, never people.

I offered high interest loans to those desperate enough to need them. My enforcers had the job of collections when I decided the right course of action was to send them. It was a messy job that had certain needs, but I made a good living off of it regardless.

Many businesses throughout South Boston paid for my protection and as such, I gave it. There were several other criminal organizations in town that threatened that on occasion, but I handled those as necessary either with correctly placed bribes or a fight if need be. It had come to that a few times, but I was always one step ahead of the competition.

I did what I had to for my family.

I ran my organization with a loose structure that resembled more traditional Italian mafia families. As the eldest, I was the kingpin. Next in line was Cillian, who served as my underboss. My other brothers Aidan, Connor, and Caden served as capos, directing their own team of soldiers who answered to their beck and call. Underneath them, my cousins Tommy, Declan, Braden, Keegan, and Tiernan served as enforcers and my muscle should I ever need them. My close friend Liam Shelby served as my consigliere and my right-hand man. He didn’t have Murphy blood running through his veins, but he may as well have. My sister Ada was a firecracker all on her own. She didn’t have an official title, but she was always included in the family business from the start. Her opinion was just as important to me as my brothers’, and I made sure she always knew that.

All of them answered to me.

I glanced in Irma’s direction as I walked through the coffee shop. She raised her eyebrows with interest, and I winked in her direction. Her full name was Irma Shelby, and she was Liam’s mother. I took special care to look after her. In the years since I’d come to Boston, she’d become a part of the family as much as anyone else, an adoptive grandmother that doted on all of us as much as she could.

I didn’t have time to stop and chat with her, but I didn’t need to really. I knew she’d grill Leah for answers soon enough. She hadn’t ever seen me take interest in a woman like this before, which made her normal drive for gossip and insight run on overdrive.

“Kieran?” she called out.

“Duty calls,” I answered, but my tone wasn’t serious. It couldn’t be after the night I’d had.

After Leah had fallen asleep in my lap last night, I’d wrapped her in my coat and carried her home. I’d tucked her into bed and slept on the couch, waking up early in the morning to stop at my place, change, and pick up groceries so that I could cook breakfast for her.

I would cherish every minute of that for the rest of my life.

“Sure… sure,” she teased grumpily, but her joy was written all over her face. I shook my head as I strode through the door to the car waiting for me outside. I opened the door and slid inside beside Liam.

“To the docks first?” he asked.
