My eyes fluttered closed at the connection, and I let out a guttural moan as she moved away. I grabbed the back of her head to pull her closer, except my hand encountered a shorter, rougher cut rather than the silky strands I expected.

I snapped my eyes open and found myself staring into the lusty whisky eyes belonging to Logan. Hana was holding my shirt bundled in her fist, forcing me to stay down across her lap, as if to ensure the connection.

“Does it feel better, husband?” Her seductive voice made my waning erection come back full force.

Logan stuck his tongue in my mouth tentatively, poking around like an innocent child experiencing his first kiss. I deepened the kiss, but when Hana let her hold loose on my shirt, I took that as my cue to pull away. When I moved back, Logan's hand caught me around my neck, holding me in place.

“Kiss me like you mean it, or not at all,” he growled.

I nipped his lip in response. I wanted the fight. I wanted him to make me work for it. It made topping him so much sexier. No! Not Joseph Pierce fucking the great Logan Cartwright into submission?!No one would believe it. But I knew that one day soon, it would happen. I couldn’t fucking wait.

A feminine throat clearing behind me stopped us from going any further.

“Excuse me, but this is a family establishment.” The hostess that sat us at our table stood looking uncomfortable.

“I’m sorry? What?” Hana asked. Her tone led me to believe she was about to lose her shit in a way this woman would not be prepared to deal with.

“This is a family restaurant and the manager wanted me to ask you all to leave. I’m sorry, but we don’t tolerate PDA.”

“PDA?” Hana echoed.

“Public displays of affection.”

Family establishment? This late at night? The place wasn’t completely packed, and there were no children as far as I could see. Plus, there was another couple sitting together, wrapped in an embrace, just a couple tables over. The woman was practically in the guy’s lap.

“Right. So, why aren’t you kicking them out?” I asked.

The hostess huffed, clearly agitated because the conversation was going sideways. “I wasn’t told to say anything to them. Look, I’m just following orders.”

“It’s cool, we’ll go,” I offered. This wouldn’t be the first time I had been asked to leave a place. It was a common request for those in the LGBTQ community. The discrimination was real.

“It’s not fair,” Hana hissed as I stood and held a hand out to her.

“I’m sorry about this.” The hostess whispered to me, her eyes reflecting her gratitude at my understanding.

“No. We’re not leaving,” Logan’s voice boomed. “Sit down, Joseph. If the manager needs us to leave, he needs to come out here and tell us himself.”

A hush fell over the other people in the room as all eyes turned towards our trio.

“I don’t want any trouble. I don’t get paid enough for this shit.” The hostess turned on her heels and fled into the kitchen.

“Let’s just find somewhere else to eat.” I tried to reason with him.

“This is fucking bullshit,” Logan exploded. “I’m Logan fucking Cartwright. No one kicks me out. And I said sit the fuck down, Joseph.”

I moved back into the booth with wide eyes. This didn’t bode well. I could already see this situation was about to get out of hand real quick. Fuck my life.

Hana sighed. “This had nothing to do with you personally, Logan.” I looked over at her and saw that her mouth was pinched. She was upset too.

“No, it didn’t have anything to do with whoIam.” Logan remarked.

“Fuck you, Logan! What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” I growled.

“It’s entirely your fault,” he replied.

The chasm in my heart grew larger. He sounded just like his brother, just worse because he was supposed to be my friend. I didn’t like him trying to place all the blame on my shoulders.

“His fault? It wasn’t even his idea, it was mine. So why don’t you place the blame on me?” She stood, as if to leave. “I must be disgusting to you.”
