“Come on,” he drawled. “Let’s make this night special.”

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to smile. “Yes, let’s make it special.”

The live theaters and nearly all other places on the cruise ship were packed. All passengers seemed to want to make the most of the last evening on the cruise.

They were just getting seated in the theater balcony seats when she saw a familiar face.

“Hi, Roopa,” Sitara greeted.

Roopa Motiani looked at her. “Hi, Sitara,” she said with a smile.

“How are you and… uh… Sohel?” Sitara asked, recalling Roopa’s husband’s name.

Roopa’s face flickered in pain before resuming to smile. “He’s gone.”

Sitara frowned. “Gone?”

Roopa nodded. “I sent him away because I caught him having sex with another woman in the spa on the night we took the helicopter tour.”

Sitara was shocked. It was the day she had seen that bastard kissing another woman too.

“Are you all right?” she asked.

Roopa Motiani continued to smile.

“Surprisingly, yes,” Roopa replied. “I thought I would fall into pieces. But I’m fine. Maybe because I always suspected he was cheating on me, but I didn’t want to acknowledge it to myself because I was scared of being alone. But now that it did happen, I feel at peace and even happy. I went to one of the lectures on the cruise where the life coach said‘Life begins when fear ends.’My constant fear of being alone is gone. I feel my life has finally begun now. Sohel was living off my father’s wealth and buying gifts using that money, not just for me but also to his mistresses. I guess now I can buy things for myself rather than wait for someone to do it.”

“I’m glad,” Sitara said, feeling happy for the other woman even though her heart ached for the pain and shock she was sure Roopa must have felt.

“I wish you all the best, Roopa.” She hugged the other woman.

Roopa hugged her back and smiled. “I wish you all the best too.”

Aarav led her to their seats. As soon as Sitara sat down, a strange thought occurred to her.

“Did you do it?” she asked.

Aarav looked at her and didn’t pretend not to understand. “Yes.”

She was shocked. She recalled how upset she had been seeing Roopa’s husband cheating on his wife. But Aarav had been the one to stop her from saying anything to Roopa right then. But she also recalled that Aarav was speaking to someone, a crew member. She was sure he made sure Sohel was caught that night.

She was glad the bastard got caught. “I hope she is happy and finds peace.”

“She will,” he said.

They finished watching the musical and then went to dinner. It was the same restaurant where they had gone on the first night. She had been nearly drunk at that time. But now, she enjoyed the ambience and most importantly the company. She couldn’t get enough of watching his handsome face while he sat opposite to her.

They were done with their dinner by ten. Just when she thought they’d get back to their room earlier than usual, he suggested another place.

“Oh God! I don’t know if I can face them again!” she said.

Aarav was amused. “I doubt if they are shocked to see drunk passengers in a casino.”

Her cheeks heated and she hit his arm. “I was not drunk!” she said in outrage.

“Do you remember anything?” he asked.
