Soon, she forgot about shower and food and everything else but him.

She never thought living in the current moment would feel so exhilarating.

CHAPTER 20

It was the last evening on the cruise.

“I can’t believe you still want to go to this show,” she said with a laugh as she stood in front of the bathroom mirror getting ready.

They had been following her pre-planned schedule over the past two days, which she had planned before knowing she would have a male company. They spent time at the pools and spa, went to live theatre shows, and had lunch and dinners at the cruise restaurants.

They were about to head to another musical show she had listed on her schedule for her last day.

“I enjoy romantic musical shows,” Aarav drawled, standing next to her.

She laughed.

Since it was the last evening of the cruise, she decided to make it special by wearing the incredibly expensive sapphire dress she had purchased from the cruise ship boutique the previous week.

“What do you think?” she asked, twirling in the new dress.

The dress clung to her curves and shimmered like a jewel.

His eyes swept over her, leaving a trail of goosebumps. “I think we should get out of the cabin suite before I bend you over the marble counter and break the promise of a memorable last night outing on the cruise.”

Her cheeks heated because she didn’t think it was a bad idea to spend the last evening and night of the cruise in bed with him.

His eyes flashed reading her mind. “Let’s go,” he ordered, slapping her butt.

“Bossy jerk,” she muttered.

His mouth twisted.

She smiled even as her ache inside her heart got harder to ignore. “Fine, let’s spend the last night in a grand style.”

Suddenly, she got reminded of something. “Wait,” she said.

She hurried out of the bathroom and went to her closet. And then, she opened her bag containing the gift purchases. She pulled out a particular box and removed an item before returning to him.

Keeping her eyes lowered, she pinned the small golden fighter jet plane brooch on his suit.

It looked subtle and masculine despite the golden color. And it looked perfect on him.

Her cheeks heated because even though they had mind-blowing passionate sex, they hadn’t gotten personal with each other. And now, she was giving him a gift. She didn’t know how to explain it to him.

She looked up. “I… uh… thought it would look good on you,” she murmured.

His eyes flashed with an unreadable emotion.

And then, he cupped her jaw and kissed her in a way that not only made her toes curl, but made her eyes sting.

She pulled away quickly, not wanting to bawl her eyes out while her mind and heart registered that it was the last day with the man who was the love of her life.

“We should go,” she whispered.

He didn’t say anything. But strangely, she saw a satisfied smile on his face.

She felt oddly confused.
