Vihaan looked at Tiya. “Actually, I wasn’t.”

“Yeah,” Tiya accepted. “We just met after a long time. I just returned from Bahrain, remember?”

Her mom clucked her tongue. “My daughter tends to forget what is important when she’s working. Anyway, Tiya’s dad and I are throwing a party in honor of the special couple tomorrow night. I’d like to invite you to attend this event. It’s at the Ritz, Dubai Marina. Please come. I’d like for her father to meet you.”

“Mom,” Tiya gasped, looking horrified. “I’ll introduce him to Dad when I’m ready to.”

“Actually, I’d love to come.” Vihaan put an arm around Tiya’s shoulder, “I think it’s high time I met your dad. Don’t you think so too, sweetheart?”

“Isn’t it too soon?” Tiya countered with a pleading look.

He winked at her. “No, sweetheart. It’s time we makeusofficial.”

This was working out way better than he’d expected. Unknowingly, Tiya had given him a way into her private circle. And he wasn’t letting that opportunity go…at all.

“Why is it too soon?” her mom retorted. “Isn’t he your boyfriend?”

“Yes, but—”

“—you must feel something for him then,” her mom added.

“What has that got to do with—”

Her mom held a hand out. “In that case, he needs to meet your dad, immediately.” Addressing Vihaan, she said, “See you tomorrow night at the party.”

Her mom’s Bentley arrived and she gave them a wave each and breezed inside it.

“Liar, liar,” Vihaan whispered in Tiya’s ear the moment her mom’s car disappeared around the corner.

She threw him an annoyed look. “Oh, why in blazing hell did you have to be there at the restaurant and ruin my plans?”

He laughed. “Seriously? You’re going with that?”

She pouted.

“Tiya, sweetheart—”

“—I’m not your sweetheart.”

“You’re hurting yourboyfriend’sfeelings, babe.”

“You are not myboyfriend.” A black Mustang stopped in front of them. Vihaan let out a low whistle.

“Nice car!”

She clucked her tongue. “I have to go.”

He grabbed her elbow, keeping her in place. “Not so soon, sweetheart.”

Vihaan addressed the valet. “Take the car for a quick spin around the block.”

“No, wait…”

But the valet sped away.

Before she could protest, he dragged her into a side alley next to the building.

“How dare you manhandle me like that?” She shrugged out of his hold, fuming. “Bloody arrogant twat-wanker.”
